New Taylor Swift

That's a double standard in our society. It just is.

But does this double standard make her a victim or a terrible role model?

All because she does not want perverts to grab her ass

I am not Hawkeye but what the man did was at most, a minor transgression, at most.

So you believe that reaching under a woman's skirt is acceptable?

How about if a guy reached down your pants, would that be acceptable? (at least without your approval before hand)

Whether or not she had bare ass or not, reaching under a persons clothes is not acceptable without approval from the person

Her team was in agreement with her mom, but OK I would need to investigate how vindictive they all were, and exactly at what point TS approved.

The victimy part was "He reached under my skirt and touched by bare ass (Paraphrase maybe)" when he had no way to know that her ass was bare unless she had been flashing him.

Why is Taylor Swift's butt bare? How did he know she wasn't wearing underwear?
From Hawkeyes post

Women (and men) should be wearing underwear in public. That's all I am saying.

Women and men should be able to be in public and not have perverts grab their butts, over their clothes or under them

That is all I am saying

However given all the evil in this world how much should we reasonably punish for this bad behavior, that's the question.

Another is if this woman did not care enough to take this man to task for his bad behavior when he did it they why should I care?

"He did not touch my rib. He did not touch my hand. He grabbed my bare ass," Swift testified.
"He stayed latched on to my bare ass ... as I moved away from him visibly uncomfortable."
"It was a very shocking thing that I have never dealt with before … He grabbed my ass underneath my skirt. It was underneath my skirt."

You are the only claiming she was playing the victim game. For actually being grabbed under her skirt. Blaming her for something the DJ did.

As for the DJ, he lost his job, seems fair

I say that the punishment does not fit the crime, especially because the woman is acting victimy.

There was actually in impartial person in the room (maybe more than one) who did not see anything to include did not see Swift act as if anything wrong had happened...maybe nothing did happen, people lie all the time.

Saying she did not like or want to have her butt grabbed is acting victimy?

If the guy did that to my wife, he would not be grabbing anything for a few months waiting for his hands to heal. Then would he be acting victimy for me touching his hands?

The question is over the correct penalty, not that a crime was committed.

Really? And you think an employer not wanting to get sued for allowing a woman groper to stay in their employ is too harsh? What would you have done if he was your employee? Give him a raise?

I'm kinda "Meh" on all things Taylor Swift these days. She had a couple of decent songs early on but just isn't a big deal imho.

A good rule of thumb is don't grab any butts unless you're 100% sure the owner of said butt is okay with it. :)

Especially if the ass belongs to someone who has much more power than you do..... a little point that tends to make her story iffy.

That and that she has a very long record of playing the victim of men for profit.

She is said to be worth almost $300 million.

That's some major power.

Kind of middling... not on the Forbes 500 I'm pretty sure. A few hundred million makes you a local power, if you own a lot of biz in a given state... you can get access to state senators, mayors, maybe the governor.

That plus fame gives you a lot more juice than Joe Average of course.

But still, if he hadn't grabbed her ass in the first place (assuming he did, and it sounds like that isn't in question), he wouldn't have ended up in trouble now would he?

It is very much in question, because as I understand it only swift and the people she pays say that he did.

DJ's are lowly paid and they know that their life is about serving the corporation which is beholden to the talent such as Swift...he is going to grab the ass of one of the biggest most important most powerful talent?

A 55 YO guy with no record of this sort of thing?

In fact no criminal record?

Not bloody likely.

The way the legal system is set they had no choice once she (Or her people, it matters little) made a big deal about this.

But then our Justice system is deeply broken.

Sounds unlikely but people do stupid things sometimes.

Me, I have no idea, and since it isn't in any way my responsibility to judge between them I'm not wasting precious time digging through the evidence.

Yeah, it could be she's using her power to railroad the guy... such things happen.

But neither her ass nor his job is my problem to worry about or to fix so I'm moving on.

You act like he went to jail or something. He tried to sue her first too. I'de say the affair was well handled by the State myself. I also think Swift has plenty of better things to do than make up a story about being groped on her naked ass. You really think things like that should be ignored?.... applauded?

If she made up a story and put this amount of her time into it it could only be because she was trying to alter her brand.....and we know that she is currently altering her brand. Apparently she has Kesha on her Nov 2017 album...my ears perked up to that.

You are talking to hawkeye as if he were 10-years old.

It can be very customary for men to grab women's by their bottom. It may not be appropriate but it happens a lot.

No, it's not customary and no it does not happen a lot. It's disrespectful and if any man other than my husband tries that on me, they will get a hand to the face. Luckily, most men are gentlemen and do not assault women by grabbing their bottom.

Yes, this is disrespectful to Taylor Swift although I don't like her. She has many interaction with men which is not a good role model to teens, and this is not what she used to be. I know her as a lady who produces music that empowers women and shows to girls that they have their strength to carry on with their rights. However, her music have changed over these past years which revealed a different side of her. In my own opinion, she is now weak because she cannot anymore defend herself, plays the victim always, and cannot own up her mistakes.

Taylor swift is not anymore an inspiration to girls. What happened to her shows how the world views her. If that DJ respects her, he would not have done that. I'm pretty sure if that DJ will be with the previous Swift, he would not have done that because the previous Swift showed how a true lady should be, a sweet and a noble individual.
