Movie studios have of course economic reasons for making remakes of good movies. Still for the movie audience it would be much better to have remakes of bad movies. Because there are a lot of bad movies that wasted good concepts and ideas.

So what bad movies would you like to see a good remakes of?

WhatCulture have a list of ten movies that wasted good concepts.

Pixels may have been a silly idea, still the orginal short film is pretty good.

If the concept did not work then maybe by definition it is a bad concept.

MAYBE?

I've always wondered, if a movie is good enough for a remake, why remake it?

As far as bad movies I've always wanted to see remade, just about any spaghetti Western. Growing up I used to hate westerns, acting was bad, scripts were bad, everything was bad. But then a few modern takes on the western were done and I realized I love westerns, just not old ones. Like Deadwood. That's like my favorite show. If you haven't seen it, it's really really good. Westworld while isn't technically a western, it has a western element, and it's really good.

Also take True Grit for instance, if you read the novels, Jeff Bridges nailed that character and Wayne did the exact same bit he always did getting by on his fanboys inexplicable love of him. You watch the old true grit and you know you're watching John Wayne, watch the new True Grit and you're watching Rooster Cogburn as intended you're not thinking of Jeff Bridges as Jeff Bridges.

You can also remake all of Clint Eastwoods movies, preferably while he's still alive, so he can know just how **** he was in those roles. Another actor that got by on the weird way his fanboys idolize his one character archetype.

I'd like to see a lot more of the old unknown sci-fi movies remade. The super cheezy ones.

Bah. The Purge is a remake anyway.

If it made money once, it can make money again. And you don't have to sit around trying to come up with a new idea.

Personally, I will have nothing to do with remakes, especially of 80's and 90's movies which were perfect the first time around. 2017 can just make up it's own new ideas for film.

Those flix are the best.
But I think part of their charm was the low budget---relatively speaking---special effects.
"House on Haunted Hill" and "The Time Machine"---off the top of my head--- were recent remakes that were worse than the originals.

This explains the "Fast and Furious" franchise.
We must be on F and F number 12 by now.

Oh for sure, that's where there charm comes from. I'm not saying remake them as high budget anything. I'm saying do it up like Sharknado, which was super successful for the same charm. Take who ever directed that, and give him a lineup of anything in the public domain.

That was, perchance, some of the worst acting ever.

Maybe. But the dude who made The Purge said it was the basis for it.

Yes, I can certainly see that. But the local townsman there, I can't even tell what accent he was failing to pull off there, lol.

Do that with the old Kung Fu movies and I would be a happy man. Those movies were so much fun. :)

Meh, he was an alien.

"Sharknado" was an instant classic.
I haven't seen any of the sequels.........we're probably on "Sharknado 12" by now, too.

An alien with poor acting skills, lol.

Man, TNG was so much better.

I invite you to re-watch those first two seasons and see if you come away still thinking that.

Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman did Unforgiven which was an excellent movie I thought.

As long as they keep the super bad voice over work, I'm down with that. Half the fun is laughing at the voice over. I think Kung Poa, is a good example of why we need to keep the bad voice overs in kung fu movies.

If you watch one of the episodes of Rick and Morty, they covered the Purge thing pretty well.

I'd love to see the following movies remade:

Spawn
The Punisher
Daredevil (although the Netflix series is awesome)
Most DC movies (w/ the exception of the Christian Bale Batman trilogy)
Pearl Harbor (remove the Titanic-esque love story)

As an actor, I've never liked Clint's old movies, but his new movies as an old man are good. And as a director, he's got some chops. I believe he directed that. There was another one he directed and starred in I really like, Gran Torino.

I watched TOS and TNG not terribly long ago. I still like TNG better. Probably because I feel that Picard is the superior captain.

Where are my testicles Summer? I went into that show expecting the worse, and was super surprised at how much I loved it.

Gran Torino was an excellent movie, I have it in my collection. I gotta be honest I like Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns.

Regarding the D.C. movies I would leave out Superman. None of the Superman movies have been anywhere near as good as Christopher Reeves' first and second movies.
