The Scorpions are still touring? Love that band. I haven't seen them in years but saw them 4 or 5 times I think. They always sounded pretty much exactly the same live as on an album. fun band. I was like 15 or 16 when I first saw them in the 80s and it was chick with big hair, fishnet stockings and I was one kid dazzled by it all and thought yea I like this.

One of my all time favorites is Social Distortion . seen them 5 times. they were just in town but sold out.

Always wanted to see Alice Cooper but never have. Also always wanted to see Aerosmith and never have. Always wanted to see Queen and never did. Elton John would be a good show I bet, never have seen him either.

Pink Floyd. The Ramones. The Grateful Dead. The Tragically Hip. AC/DC.

Just finished hole #3 out here in SD. Wife with elderly aunt. Big drought here in south, south central SD .

Forgot about AC/DC .

That is shocking. (Oh yeah, +10 for the pun). I saw the Cult live in a small Toronto venue...that was a kickass show. I wasn't much into the concert scene, but I had one summer where I went to like 10, because I had a buddy who was a genius at getting concert tickets for free off of radio stations, and didn't like going to concerts with his g/f...hehe... But I missed a lot of the legends... My Dad, on the other hand, saw ALL of them (all the epic bands of the 60's and 70's), and remembers next to nothing. He liked acid. hehe

I dont go to shows anymore but I am sad that I never saw Talking Heads.

Jimi Hendrix
Mike Bloomfield
The Doors
We all will be seeing them someday, but personally I'd prefer to wait a bit! ;)

But until then, you might find this of interest:

Probably my greatest regret in music attendance was in not seeing all those great Chicago bluesman, the guys that gave us the Stones and blues based rock, when they were playing a scant mile or two from house as a kid. Playing in small Southside clubs and bars for a two drink minimum, or a very moderate door fee, interacting with their audience.

Hound Dog Taylor, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, the whole pantheon, were alive then and working the SouthSide juke joints. Instead I spent my money and time on Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones, and whatever popular national act came through, watching from many rows back.

Not that I regret being a part of the sixties & seventies rock scene, but I neglected seeing those iconic working bluesmen in their native environment.

These days? Man, I probably rather see my favorite bands doing live shows on YouTube.

My dad really wanted to do that and did a few times but as a square white guy from Rockford he felt out of place and not safe. Not sure how legit that concern was but at some point something happened to him in Chicago that scared him. You will remember that I said earlier that when he hit the record stores on Maxwell Street he did not linger, it was get in and get out, I never even got a hot dog (or was it a polish?).

EDIT: On second though crime stories from his brother who lived for 8 years near Old Town might have been the problem. Did you ever go to the original Pickle Barrel over on Wells? That was were we often went when we visited...barrels of great homemade pickles, peanut shells on the floor so deep it was dangerous, a guy roaming making balloon animals for the kids...Great Fun!

My best man's wife just saw Paul McCartney at Tinley Park and taped a lot of it on phone. Great concert. Beatles channel XM Sirius is #18.

Just got my ass kicked by the golf course. Saw just about all of it but the fairways. Greens are lightning quick with the drought out here. Cooling off from the hot sun, but I like the dry heat, as does my right knee .

If anything was possible I would love to see Black Sabbath in their pride, Pink Floyd during the Wall tour, Kiss in their prime, watch Slayer during their South of Heaven tour (the best concert I ever saw), Ozzy with Rhoads on guitar, Elvis Presley, Traveling W's with Roy Orbison, Queen in their prime, Iron Maiden during their live after death tour, ACDC with Bon singing, Elvis (because I love him so much so I gotta name him twice) and the Beatles of course. Of the bands of today there are few bands I would run out to watch again.

I saw Metallica during their And Justice for All Tour, was not impressed, a bloody mess, singing/guitars vs. percussion bass guitar were battling each other and not in a good way.

The only band I would love to see is Rammstein. I would not mind watching the Golden Earring if it were affordable and close to where I live but I live in the far south of the Netherlands and concerts usually are 200 km away from where I live.

Would not mind seeing Marylin Mason. Rage Against the Machine is fine.

I saw them between Master of Reality and Vol. 4. Great show.

This is an awesome concert. Check it out.

The Stones, Pink Floyd, and AC/DC when Brian Johnson was the lead singer...:(

I've seen the Eagles, the Doobies, Billy Joel, and ELO...all great concerts...I think one of the worst concerts I've ever seen was Van Halen...

I know the video, loved the video, would have loved to see them play then but sadly, too young for it.

Would have also loved to see this lot play together:

Yeah, I saw the Dio version of Sabbath on the Heaven and Hell (album) tour, but I didn't go see Ozzy when they came through and Rhodes was alive. I had a crunch week at school and told myself, "next time".:(

And I had just graduated from HS when Black Sabbath first came on the scene in 1971 for me.

Jethroll Tull during my fall semester of 1975 on a Thursday night made for a difficult Friday student teaching. I should have called in .

One of the non-concert highlights was my visiting Evita in London in the mid 80's, awesome and when We will rock you the Musical played I went to see it 5 or 6 times and if I had lived closer or had a lot more funds, I would have gone and seen it another 2 dozen times at least.

This is a bit of an impression of it, except of course for Bryan may, he was only there for the first show but the guitar player we had all the times was very good as well.

When did you see Van Halen?

I saw them 5 times, but the last time was the 5150 tour. 2 of those shows were disappointing, but other 3 were awesome. Eddie has drug/alcohol issues and I think the quality of the shows depended on his state of mind/body.

Way back when...1984 World Tour...

I'm sorry - I saw that tour and they were great.

Not as good as the Fair Warning tour, but it was one of the better ones. The disappointing shows for me were Women and Children First and 5150.

Only two remaining on my bucket list...Pink Floyd and Erik Clapton.
