This, is the best Spiderman yet.

Long Version:

This is the freaking best Spiderman yet. Tom Holland nails the role as Peter Parker.

Watched it Thursday night with my son. LOVED it! I loved Tobey's Spider-Man and couldn't stand the more recent ones. Peter Parker isn't a super-model. But this one might actually be better than Tobey's.

I'm SO glad they skipped the origin part. I wish more super hero reboots would do that. Everyone knows by this point how they got their powers.

I also think this movie might have dethroned Deadpool as the funniest superhero movie. I laughed so freaking much!

I wonder why they can't find an American actor for these All-American super hero roles.

The vast majority are are they not?

Superman, Batman actors are americans

All but two of the Xmen are I believe

Most of the Avengers are

Haven't there been a couple of Supermen along with this last Spiderman and I think the one before as well who haven't been American.

It just seems odd to me that the most American icons are played by Brits or Australians. I wonder if the directors go looking for non-Americans to play these roles as they seem to be showing up more and more.

The superman's have been American to my knowledge

The previous batman UK

Wolverine Australian but that character is Canadian

Thor aussie

The latest Superman (Henry Cavill) is British. The current Batman Affleck is American but Christian Bale (the previous one) was British too.

I had thought Cavill was American. I would never have guessed he was British

Tom Holland nails the role as Peter Parker.

Was by far the best mix of the two sides of the character. Played the nerdy, somewhat awkward, kind of finding himself kid better than Garfield. Played the quipy, excited, with an air of "due is a badass without knowing it" about him better than McGuire.

Essentially, he's a better Parker than Garfield and a better Spiderman than McGuire, leading to the best combination thus far. And it really helped the movie as both the spiderman and the parker parts were very strong

It was good because Marvel and not Sony made it. The people who created Spiderman understand the role and the larger universe he fits into better than the people who didn't. Imagine that.

I think we can also do without the eight hundredth "Bruce Wayne's parents were killed in an alley" Batman origin story. Undiscovered neolithic tribes in the Amazon know Batman's origin story.

I also think this movie might have dethroned Deadpool as the funniest superhero movie. I laughed so freaking much!

People who didn't read Spiderman comic books may be surprised to learn that Spider Man is specifically funny. It wasn't just a random movie decision.
