"Popular Bands" You Do Not Like, But Most Others Seem To Love

Nope. Can't take it.

I was surrounded by Dead-heads in college. Listened to endless hours of discussions about bootleg concert tapes, and comparisons of songs from different concerts...
And of course torturous hours of the actual "music"...

I'd sooner stick the ends of wire coat-hangers into my ears than listen to any more of that.

I sort of feel the same way for stuff that's main selling point is its loud

The Eagles.

I love the song Hotel California from one end to the other, but the rest of their stuff is mostly 'meh' to me at best. What I hated was their unplugged/Hell Freezes Over stuff - basically any reunion material.

The HC and prior albums I could understand the popularity of, but I didn't buy any of them. Talented guys, for sure.

Joe Walsh improved that band, kind of the same way Crosby, Stills and Nash were improved when Neil Young made them more electric.

Agree on all counts. I love Walsh, all the way back to The James Gang days. He's a great guitarist. Young is one of the best singer/songwriters ever.

I haven't watched Dr. Who since Tom Baker left. I'm a sci-fi fan as if you couldn't tell and I rarely read fantasy but I have really gotten in to GOT. Weird I know.

This might surprise you, but Tom Baker returned to the role in audio-only format (full cast audio-plays, not audiobooks). Midway through the sixth season.

There are also various longer-format special episodes, ie, some where Hinchcliffe returned to contribute:

(Others scattered throughout).
