I have to say that the movie has been heavily hyped. Usually when a film is heavily hyped, I wind up less impressed. This is why I tend to avoid media about movies I'm interested in seeing.
The good...

This afternoon, I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy. It was actually better than I expected. While a little overstuffed, I never actually felt bored like when watching Batman v Superman. Also unlike in Suicide Squad, every main character had a purpose in the film. And I will say this: there are a lot of cliche's but these cliches didn't feel bad, out of place, or tired. I didn't roll my eyes about any of the Superheroes cliches. I actually enjoyed the wink and nudge played to them. And the relationship between Nebula and Gamorrha was WAY WAY WAY better than I thought it would be. I didn't like Yondu and his crew in the first film, but here he's given an expanded story and I like his characterization a little better.

The bad...
The weak point was the villain. They all seem to have the same formulaic motivation as some variant of "For the EVULZ". And the moment when he truly reveals his villainy feels a bit sudden as in, "we want to make sure the audience feels he is irredeemably evil". Draxx actually feels like a weak link from a heroism standpoint, because he doesn't seem to add much to the team. But as far as actual characterization goes, his character was fine.

The Ugly...
There are a lot of branching stories placed here. Some of them felt tacked on but not to the point of distracting. It's clear that, if Marvel were so inclinded, they could actually establish a GotG Franchise via film or t.v.

The secondary villain had absolutely reasonable motives for being a villain. In fact, I won't even call her a villain. I'll call her an antagonist to the heroes. I'm sure her people thought she was doing the right thing. Her actions led to a branching story to be explored later.

Conclusion...
I'm sure Superhero Fatigue will set in eventually but if it does it's not going to be because of anything the Marvel Cinematic Universe is doing. They have been consistently on point with some stumbling around Ant-man/The Avengers 2. If anything, people will get tired of Superhero movies because of WB mishandling of the DC universe. I actually think the Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel is better than the first.
