Your Parent's Favorite TV Shows That You Were So Sick Of

Oh, dear and fluffy Chet Atkins, you had to mention Hee Haw.... :D

It's something our generation had to suffer through.

I watched an episode of the Six Million Dollar Man a few weeks ago and, for the life of me, I can't understand why I liked it so much. It was a really, really bad show.

Heh. Watch an episode of Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges. There's a long list of atrocities that existed back when you had to crank your TV up to watch it. We were always enthralled though. It defies explanation.

Did your parents always hog the living room and keep the TV on at all times? Which shows did they keep watching that made you gag? :doh

My dad: Amazing Discoveries (yeah, he would drink while watching informercials!)and Walker Texas Ranger/Renegade/Dukes of Hazard/Hunter/Nash Bridges.

My mom: noontime soap operas like As the World Turns and the Love Connection.

My mom always loved to watch the soaps in the afternoon. Her favorite was the Edge of Night. She also had to watch Perry Mason at night whatever day it came on. But at night I usually got to watch my westerns. My dad rarely watched TV. Now I grew up in 1950's, cartoons on Saturday morning was a staple. Movies usually came on Saturday afternoon which usually included westerns, Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Johnny Mack Brown, and more. About the only show I remember all of us watching was the "Wonderful World of Disney," on Sunday nights.
