Erin Moran of "Happy Days" dead at 56

Erin Moran, who famously played Joanie Cunningham on "Happy Days" and its spinoff "Joanie Loves Chachi" has died ... TMZ has learned.
We're told authorities in Indiana got a call just after 4 PM ET Saturday from someone reporting an "unresponsive female." EMT's arrived and found Erin Moran's body ... she was already dead. Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com

She had a hard life after her stardom ended. Rest in peace, "Joanie."

Millions. Her character was a darling, charming girl. So sad that her life spiraled so terribly out of control.

Drugs, booze, bipolar...maybe a combination of all three. But, yeah, I read that she was in some bad shape. Bad enough to be thrown out of the Trailer Park in Southern Indiana. That takes some doing.

Another child actor who could not conform to everyday life after the camera stopped turning. Why anyone would let there minor child enter the entertainment industry is beyond me?

Erin had a lovely smile, and she was part of my Tuesday night back in the day. Always came off as very pleasant and personable in interviews.
 
There has been a lot of miss information put out there about Erin.

Yes she fell on hard times had a lot of debt, lost her home in California. Acting gigs were few and far between. Her husband spoke up today shooting down much of what the media had reported. He said Erin was happy and not strung out on drugs. Unfortunately she got sick with cancer. It spread throughout her body. She could no longer eat or talk and a feeding tube had been inserted. Her husband fed her 6 times a day through the tube.

The day she died, she let her husband know she was out of tissues. He went to the store to pick some up, came home and got into bed with her holding her hand they both fell asleep only he woke up.

Rest in peace Erin.

Hard times and then a terminal illness before age-60. And, to think how many people once wished they were her.
