Best Pipes in Female Rock

I know! A lot of my favorite rockers have already been mentioned so I wanted to share some non-rock ones.

Seems so wrong, though. To me, Karen Carpenter has the best voice ever, but she was certainly no rocker.

Pat Benatar could sing, there was also the several women who sang with Meatloaf,
Lorraine Crosby, and Ellen Foley

Tina Turner

I always thought the woman who sang this song had a cool rock voice... Tracy Bonham

I always liked Haley Williams(Paramore) too. And whoever sings in Evanescence

If you haven't heard this before, you need to. A singluar masterpiece, unlike anything else I've heard. Not really rock, per se, but it gets thrown in that classification for marketing purposes. The amazing Lisa Gerrard and Dead Can Dance.

The good stuff happens later in the song, as far as vocals go, but don't skip the entire experience. You may know it from it being used in some big movies, but it's best taken straight, no chaser.

There were several great female vocalist who sang with him.

But he and Karla had a chemistry that none of the others had. In "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" her and Meat light up the stage like no one else. For vocals, I always thought that Ellen Foley was by far the best, but she was strictly in the studio and didn't tour.

Lots of names left out:

Brenda Lee
Etta James
Marilyn Mccoo
Diana Ross
Annie Lennox

Clarity, range, power...who is better???

...And Ethel Merman. Oh, all right. Maybe not. Helluva set of ah, something though. Okay, udderly ridiculous.

Merman could sure get your attention! Her voice was made for Broadway.

Stevie's best song, as she sang it back in 1977.

I feel like yall have missed a couple of great ones

But...nothing has ever come close to comparing to what I consider the best ever female vocalist performance of all time. Barr none.

Janis Joplin? WTF? I suppose you like Joe Cocker's voice, too?
