It's time... Star Wars the Last Jedi Trailer

Here is the poster for the movie as well.

I like it. I hope they take some risks in this movie. Here's a few things I want to see....

1. Luke Skywalker at his full power.... doing him total and complete justice as the most powerful Jedi there ever was(apparently according to George Lucas).

2. I want it to end in failure...especially Rey failing xD Just like empire strikes back...And she can come back and be the hero in the next one.

3. I don't want it to be predictable, and I want the bad guys to feel powerful. I don't know how they are going to redeem Kylo Ren... because he already lost to the main character in a 1v1 fight, even though he'd be training almost his whole life while she for only a few months.... The enemy isn't supposed to be the underdog...

4. I want things explained more... I want lore...

He was hit in by Chewbacca's bowcaster that is powerful enough to take out groups of people. Just living through that and then going on to fight was pretty ridiculous.

I agree...but walking out of the movie it didn't give me that impression, it wasn't the feeling I got from it. I think it was a poor choice of plot, bad acting, or they needed to make it more obvious that he was injured.

regardless.... Rey=1 Kilo=0...AND she gets to train with luke... he's the underdog

Ok obvs this looks cool and all but sans "it's time for the jedi to end" it didn't seem all that hype.

Thor Ragnarok trailer got me way more excited

I agree with you the most on the lore part. TFA didn't explain much of anything about the stat of the galaxy, and I had to get that info from the visual novel and other sources. Hell, they only showed the New Republic for like 10 seconds in the film.

You mean that badass chest thump wasn't indication enough?

Also I think Rey and Kylo may end up trading places, with Kylo turning to the light and Rey to dark; especially notable in Kylo's theme (turns from menacing to the opposite), nevermind the vicious, predatory way Rey began to fight when she tapped into the force and effected her reversal.

The one thing I think that detracts from this theory is the idea that making Rey a baddie on a lasting basis would draw flak from feminists and such, so she'll probably be redeemed in the end, if she ever goes that route. It's probably more likely that she's sorely tempted by the dark side and the power it offers, but ultimately rejects it rather than ever actually succumbing, though I would put money on the fact that there will be some kind of substantive flirtation with it.

After it happened... you could have easily forgotten it did... he shrugged that thing off like nothing... I understand the logic behind it xD but when him and Ray were dueling... she did not take advantage of his injuries... it was shown as a clear skill gap that influenced it, or at least he completely underestimated her, and that is his fault. If you want to make it obvious someone won just because of injuries, he should have been like coughing up blood, and just pushing on even though it was obvious he shouldn't have.

They did do that a little bit, but it wasn't enough for me to get that feeling.

And man, see that would be taking a risk and I would love that...that would be unexpected.

Meh. I didnt like the Force Awakens movie, so I have very low expectations on this one. It looks like she's gonna go through the usual Jedi training thing thats already been done in Empire Strikes Back. Anyway, I hope Im wrong and it turns out okay.

Yes! The only gripe I have with TFA is the ending (not the Luke part). Kylo Ren should've died in an epic fight. I don't like him as a villain, and - as Celticwar said - he came off as non-threatening. We need a scary villain for this one. If Kylo Ren is the main baddie again I'll be sad.

After Luke said it's time for the Jedi to end and it then goes to the title....

Chills.

All these years later, hundreds, likely thousands of views of the previous movies later, the thought of a new SW movie can still deeply connect with me and give me chills. Bam.

My wife thinks that was Kylo speaking, and we're being mislead

I'd be surprised if he doesn't turn to the light side and someone else takes up that mantle; just listen to his theme, and the way he dealt with Rey at the end, his hesitancy with Harrison Ford; the guy's heart just isn't in his villainy, nevermind what happens when he finds out Vader was redeemed, etc.

Entirely possible, but I hope not. I hope we see a dark Jedi version of Luke. Let's be real he didn't have THAT much time to train under Yoda so in terms of a Jedi he is pretty young. Then he goes off to train new ones, but Kylo goes all Sith and kills everyone. Then I am sure in part of Luke's mind he blames the Jedi as a reason why Anakin turned. It seems to me that there is a lot of reason why to Luke the Jedi do not work and need to be replaced with something else.

could have Luke go to the dark side and try to turn rey during her training and have rey and kylo team up agisnt him might not make any sense but it would be fun to watch
