I, since the BSG Reboot disaster and such classics as "Sharknado" have avoided the Syfy channel as a rule. The other night, really bored I tossed this show on Amazon. I'm 4 episodes in, and I'm hooked. It's got a great cast, acceptable SFX, and a story that just compels me to watch another episode. Had I thrown it on tonight, I'd of watched every episode in one long binge.

Very impressed so far.

I've read all the books, they're awesome. The series so far is pretty good and follows the books to some degree.

I'm not a huge scifi reader, but this has peaked my interest. I'm trying very hard not to spoil it.

It's usually better to watch the movie/series first, then read the books. That way you enjoy the extra detail and depth, after enjoying the drama and visuals of the film version without knowing what is going to happen. :)

I read all the available books (5 or 6 at the time iirc) before the series ever started.
