Oct 27, 2016 - Praise the Lord, this millefeuille of madnesses is finally here. And don't let the flip-flops fool you – Jude Law's Pius XIII is brutal as he sets about ...

Damn, I wish I had HBO.

We're cradle Catholics, and have a priest in the immediate family.

I doubt there are many organizations where internal politics are much more endemic, or practiced at higher levels!

We watched the first two episodes - first one nearly caused us to call a halt to it right then and there but the second was a lot better.

The one question that makes no sense at all is how in the hell did this guy who is completely without any redeeming qualities get a concave of cardinals to vote for him.

The other question is the absurd notion that the pope can squeeze the cardinals confessor to tell him what they confess. That turns thousands of years of catholic dogma on its ear and is beyond ridiculous.

Keaton is very good however.

I understand. I've done three episodes and I'm not sure how many more I'll do. I'm not Catholic so I won't take on the theology. So far as I can tell it seems the theme is he's the only character who is totally consumed by the concept of God.

Maybe that happens in the third episode - but so far he is totally consumed by the concept of himself.

I've watched a couple episodes. I honestly can't stand the show.

It's far too slow and pretentious. The plot just kind of lack-a-daisically meanders around, while Jude Law casually condescends to everyone around him.

What's the point?

I stopped watching.

I will finish through its completion... but without any real enthusiasm.

Finished it and was relatively satisfied I invested the time. I felt episode 9 was the best with the conclusion in 10 being cliche for how they ended it.

I would give the entire thing a 6 out of ten in terms of a rating.

And I still have no idea how a person like that could have won the conclave of cardinals and get elected in the first place.
