My sister texted me just now to Google for the digital interpretation of "The Garden of Earthly Delights." This is a triptych and, sadly, only the first panel, "Paradise" has been animated so far. This is cool.
A Vividly Animated Digital Interpretation of ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights’ by Hieronymus Bosch

For those familiar, it's the middle panel that fascinates. (When you're ten and looking at your parents' art books on the coffee table, you notice naked people, especially somebody pulling a flower out of somebody's butt.) https://tuinderlusten-jheronimusbosch.ntr.nl/en#

The video isn't exactly an animated version of the centerpiece. It's more of an interpretation of the center panel in the style of Bosch. That being said, it's an interesting interpretation.

Ive been fascinated by Bosch and his paintings ever since I stumbled upon a book of his works in my grandma's house at the tender age of 8. Bosch didnt invent the diabolical paintings he did but his works were so influential he became famous (I even based my pen name partly on his paintings lol).

I read essays on a number of theories as to how he came up with such images, one of them being that he was a secret member of a heretical christian sect called the Adamists. I personally think he was just a very pious Christian and that kind of zeal enabled him to imagine the cruelest images in his paintings- it takes a hardcore fanatic to truly see the worst things that anyone can imagine.

That modern interpretation looks okay, but nothing like the power of the original.
