She was a terrific talent and a resilient spirit.

God, 2016 ****ing sucks.

Re: [R/I/P/] Debbie Reynolds

Isn't she Carrie Fisher's mom?

So very sad. They were very close and next door neighbors. I guess the loss was too much for her.
She was always one of my favorites, because she brought a sparkle to the screen and cheered people up.
The grief often times is immense, when a child dies before a parent.

From what I've recently heard, Carrie had lots of problems throughout her life with depression. Just THAT would break a mom's heart. Then...having her daughter die prematurely? I can understand her heartbreak. Hoping they are together as their best selves...

Re: [R.I/.P.] Debbie Reynolds

To think that she danced with Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor at age 19 and could match them step for step... WOW!!!!! I remember my mom really liked her and one night in 1957 we put on our pjs and went to the drive in to see SONG OF THE SOUTH ( a rerelease) and TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR. My younger brother fell asleep after the Disney flick but I stayed up and remember her well.

I especially her love of Hollywood history and how she tried to preserve so much of it with her own museum and fund raising. She will be missed.

Saw Carrie Fisher's daughter on the Today show just two weeks ago where she spent a long time talking fondly about her mother and grandmother. Can't imagine what she's going through right now.

I would think Debbie held on until Carrie no longer needed her. That is the way it seems.

I am now worried about the Debbie Reynolds Collection.

I would assume it was left in the hands of Debbie's son and Carrie's brother.

I would guess he will start selling off the collection as there is not anybody to stop him now.

Re: [R.I/.P.] Debbie Reynolds

Why would you guess that he would want to sell it?

It is a feeling I have after seeing him on a show a while back about a guy that finds Hollywood memoribilia to sell at auction and he took a camera and something else to get it appraised. The camera had been used to film a famous movie. It has been a few years now, so I don't remember

Rest in peace.

My mother loved Debbie Reynolds and always took her side, just despised Elizabeth Taylor as a homewrecking hussy. I remembered Mom's old 45 record yesterday, so here is the B side of "Tammy":

Debbie Reynolds was the voice of "Charlotte" in Charlotte's Web:

She was still an attractive lady to be as old as she was. Of course Steve Martin got hammered in twitter for saying her daughter was beautiful because it was supposedly sexist and objectified her.

Attractiveness isn't limited to dewy youth. Jane Fonda is 79 and looks fabulous.

(And then there is 94-year old Betty White!) GoFundMe campaign warns 2016 to stay away from Betty White - LA Times

I thought what Martin tweeted--that when he was young, he thought Carrie Fisher was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen--was lovely and wish he hadn't knuckled under.
