Keep the change, you filthy liberals. Jackie Evancho is dashing though the snow to get her haul to the bank:

Jackie Evancho — the virtually unknown 16-year-old singer slated to perform at Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20 — is laughing all the way to the bank as her recent album sales have skyrocketed since her performance was announced.

Trump detractors attacked the teenage classical singer earlier this month for agreeing to perform at the event, noting that it would ruin her career.
However, it has done quite the opposite.

Evancho's weekly album sales have quadrupled for both digital downloads and with retailers, according to TMZ.

And her album "Someday at Christmas" reportedly had to be restocked twice in local stores, TMZ reported.

Even the soprano's Billboard spot has jumped significantly.

Evancho's "Dream With Me" album and her "O Holy Night" EP are both at No. 2 on the Billboard charts — which is the highest spot they've ever held.

Who?

If she was an unknown (it sounds like she was), it might not be as difficult as you think to "quadruple" sales. She may have had few sales to begin with. I never heard of her.

Well God Bless the young lady. I hope her record sales continue upwards.

I only hope that Trump pays her for her appearance.

Nobody grudges her her meal ticket. It's a rare thing to make a buck off of Trump.

I hadn't heard of her either but she's well worth listening to.

I think she was 11 when this was recorded

I've never heard of her but after googling at bit she seems to be a real - if still young - musician singing real music which puts her way ahead of autotune queens singing pablum (see Taylor Swift) in my book.

Good for her. We could more exposure to real, talented musicians.

A spike in her album sales = something about liberals?

A contestant who placed in 3rd on America's Got Talent some years back.

2nd--when she was ten years old. :2razz: I wonder how many A-listers had accomplished as much by the time they were ten. At age twelve, Beyoncé, for one, was making the rap circuit in Houston with Girls Tyme and entered Star Search with the group. Alas, Ed McMahon didn't hand them any prize money. :(

Yeah. It means their predictions of doom concerning anyone who sang at Trump's inauguration weren't any more accurate than those of a Hillary coronation on January 20th. They really need to work on that.

60,000 people a year make a living off of Trump.

How many people have YOU employed? Ever?

Who? ... I never heard of her.

That's okay. She's a classical singer. I'll bet most people who don't follow classical music have never heard of her, either, but then I'm ashamed to say they'd probably give me a blank stare if I asked them to hum a few bars of Mozart or Beethoven, too.

Well, I have some moderate familiarity with classical music, and I still haven't heard of her!

But no biggie. We'll get to see her on the 20th, I suppose.

Okay, let me give you a quick test. (No peeking, but then this is easy.)

1. Who was the principal conductor of the Metropolitan Opera for more than forty years, until retiring recently?

2. How many symphonies did Beethoven write?

3. What prolific German composer is known principally for his church organ and choral works?

4. What is a "serenade"?

And, finally...

5. What baroque composer was born in Brandenburg-Prussia but became a noted composer for the royal court of Britain and was buried with full honors in Westminster Abbey?

If you get three right, I'll be impressed.

Reading some of the posts here makes me amazed that so many are unaware of the wealth of musical talent that exists in the world. Seriously, folks, all you have to do is get away from the big-money music industry. That's not where the real music is.

Jackie Evancho -

Here is a video of her in a duet with Peter Hollens, performing the Leonard Cohen classic "Hallelujah". She is 14 years old in this video.

btw, if you've never heard of Peter Hollens, you should check that young man out, as well.

Oh...I should add that Jackie Evancho has sung for President Obama. I guess it's not surprising that Obama's "star-power" didn't help her one bit.

Ouch! :stars: That hurt!

I occasionally will watch the Got Talent , Xfactor clips on youtube and I recall her either winning or placing quite high on one of those when she was like 12 or something. So I was familiar. Ive actually seen her once live as well at some Christmas performance my mom wanted to go to and got most of the family to go see. That was maybe 2 years ago. She was pretty good. A bit of classical/operatic music I'm good with.. in doses.

O.K., no peeking!

I feel strong on two:

#2 = 9

#3 = JS Bach

I'm lost on two others:

#1

#5

And think I should get partial credit for one:

#4 = I know the general pop form, but can't verify that translates to the same form in classical music.

So, do I get to go to Disney World?

Now there is a musical art form though, classical Americana of sorts - at least according to Alan Lomax, where I'm a bit stronger; though unlike his Mississippi Delta recordings, I much prefer the urban early electric Chicago sound:

Even though my voice is that of a frog's I'd sing in Trump's inauguration too if he'd pay me.

Jackie Evancho has the voice of an angel.

When she performed with Sarah Brightman, that was heavenly.

No surprise you see the usual suspects attacking a girl! Give me a break. Calling a girl a "nobody" or "loser."

Just when I thought Liberals couldn't stoop any lower you see them berating a little girl. The Evancho family is tough though. They received a lot of criticism because her sister is transgender as well.

Liberals see value in celebrity. They consider real music Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande. Let me tell you Jackie Evancho represents the American Dream. A young girl that rose from obscurity and worked her way to stardom. And she didn't sell out like Taylor "The Country Singer" Swift.

The inauguration isn't about these failed celebrities supporting failed politicians like Hillary Clinton. It is about real Americans and their voice being heard.
