Booyah! I can't wait for this movie!

I watched the original Bladerunner when I was around 7 or 8 years old and I was totally mesmerized by it.

The first trailer from the Blade Runner sequel, Blade Runner 2049, has been released, and while it leaves a lot of questions unanswered—among them, “Why are they making a sequel to Blade Runner”—it does reveal that 34 years is not enough time to learn the most important lesson of the original movie: No one likes the voiceover.
Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling star in the first trailer for Blade Runner 2049

I did not know that I do not like the voiceover.

The trailer may have the voiceover, but we dont know if the movie will have it.

Good point.

I liked the voiceover, it was one of several things that made this movie different and special. I figure next I find out that I hate the Vangelis soundtrack.

Unless this move is great I am going to be not happy about it getting made...is Hollywood finding it impossible to find writers who can write great new stories?
*rhetorical question*

I really enjoyed the video game version that came out in 1999. For those who didn't see it, it was a lot like Myst (the big scenic adventure movie of the era), but set in the Bladerunner universe. Except that you interacted with quite a few characters (including some from the movie) and the events of the game took place in parallel with those of the film. Lots of fun.

Pity I never played that game.

Really have high hopes for this. Mostly because it's in Denis Villeneuve's hands. His work has been outstanding - Prisoners and Arrival are two of the best films I've seen in the past decade.
