Westworld (HBO)

Yes, you saw those events with Maeve before seeing the revelation that she was doing all these things according to a pre-planned script. Who's to say that the cooperation of those 2 tech guys wasn't part of the pre-planned arrangement?

We know from some "security video" footage on the show's Website, that it's set in the year 2052 (timestamp on the security video) - and that's very noteworthy for being 35 years after 2017. So according to that timeline, Dolores first comes alive basically in our current day. The events with Maeve breaking out, and with Wyatt, would be happening 35 years from now.

So based on the premise that the Westworld park starts up in our own current day, then it's probably not happening on Mars, since we're not on Mars yet.

LOL, maybe it's happening in Orlando or Anaheim.

But I'm more inclined to believe it's happening somewhere in the Arizona-NewMexico area, because of the Indian lore from that area being cited by the show ("The Maze")

Well if its not in another planet Im guessing it must be on an island since the term "mainland infiltration" was part of Maeve's plot.

I do hope Ed Harris is alive by next season, he's my favorite character. He wanted to play on hardcore mode and he got his wish in the end. :cowboy:

Yeah, it could probably have been on an island - and we did see that seashore with the rolling waves as the backdrop for when Dolores dies and the existing narrative gives way to the brand new one.

Ed Harris' contract has definitely been confirmed as renewed for the next season, so he's definitely coming back.

Somehow I'm thinking that the fate of the broader relationship between humans and hosts may hinge on whether William and Dolores can overcome their hatred for each other, and find love again. I dunno, maybe there's something allegorical there.

The show's writers have said that while the first season was characterized by control, the second season will be defined by chaos.

You may remember Billy Crystal's famous movie:

I binged watched the whole thing over the weekend. It was good, though not great. The William/MIB twist was pretty good, as was the Bernard/Arnold twist, but I just found the Maeve story unbelievable- I couldnt believe she convinced the two schmucks to help her. It also seemed to me that the humans were pretty dumb (the tactical teams sent to hunt down the escaped robots were pretty stupid), and the security within the facility seemed non-existent. But then again, perhaps Ford planned it that way.

I'm beginning to think that Westword isnt even on Earth, perhaps Mars after it was terraformed?

I am looking forward to season2, would be nice to see the other amusement parks like Samurai World. In the movie there was three: Westworld, Romanworld and Medievalworld.

I just binge watch westworld and I was thinking that about the Maeve plot the whole time. How stupid can those guys be?

I'm not really looking forward to season 2 because I don't see anywhere for this series to go that hasn't been done a million times before. Machines rise up after being "oppressed" and then attack humanity. Pretty much the generic plot to a dozen movies and TV shows and westworld has the added downside of not really having any likeable human characters.
