Its good, its very good.
Its good, its very good.
I would probably rate Jessica Jones higher, but that's mostly because Kristen Ritter has a crush on me (in my reality). But I have a rough idea of your criteria, so...wow. I expect to be impressed.Daredevil 1--8
Daredevil 2--6
Jessica Jones--6
Luke Cage---9
Opinions will vary but it seems to be put together much better. Stronger storyline and acting.

I had a hard time finding anyone in the Jessica Jones storyline with a redeeming quality. Even JJ herself was so damaged it was hard to root for anyone in that series. I guess that's strong characterization but still, it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
That's what I liked about it. Jessica considered herself a "piece of ****" and so part of her felt she deserved Kilgrave's abuse and that she didn't deserve forgiveness for her actions under his influence. That's pretty standard with abuse victims, and throw in some survivor's remorse and we get the mess that is JJ who is struggling just to be a decent human being and facing pressure to be a hero.
Daredevil took a different route, but it seems like all three shows are examining what it means to be a hero and why anyone would be stupid enough to do it.
Its good, its very good.
Rank it with Daredevil 1, Daredevil 2, and Jessica Jones.
I don't think the problem is Cage himself, but the villains. None of them are particularly compelling, unlike Wilson Fisk, Kilgrave, or Punisher (or the Hand). I cared about Luke...I didn't care about the villains. We're on episode 8 and honestly I don't know if we've got the strength to finish the season. Unlike Jessica Jones, it has no compelling storyline, no compelling past or motivation for the hero, and no compelling arch-nemesis. The story just meanders about hoping that if it trudges forward long enough it'll find a story to latch onto. It would occasionally get a little fun when it pushed a seventies blaxploitation Shaft-like theme, but that's as far as the enjoyment meter could rise.
Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke cage are eventually supposed to join Iron Fist in a Defenders mashup, and so far as they've built up his character Luke Cage will definitely be what Hawkeye is to The Avengers: the vanilla character no one gives a damn about. And even then, no obviously central hero on the level of Iron Man's charisma has been created, so all I can say is they better pull a rabbit out of their hat with Iron Fist, because if all four heroes are this bland then The Defenders is going to be in trouble.

Agreed, Binged watch 1-13 already and it was awesome.
I was actually VERY surprised. I didn't think I'd be into it.
I can't rank it with the others cause I haven't watch them yet, they haven't been able to draw me in yet. Im sure I will eventually though.

Currently on episode 4. Well, its definitely better than the totally boring Jessica Jones, but I still think Daredevil season 1 was the best superhero show on TV.
So far its kind of predictable. Remy from House of Cards is a good villain but he's just an ordinary guy who is totally outclassed. If the writers made Luke Cage less angsty this would have been a one episode show.
I hope they make Moon Knight into a TV show.
Daredevil 1
Luke Cage
Daredevil 2
Jessica Jones
That'd be my ranking thus far. But all of them are good, so even though JJ is the lowest for me, it's still a "definitely watch"
Ok Update....
I have now binge watched Jessica Jones. I think I might like it better but only slightly like maybe a half point to full point. I was thinking though this MIGHT be because I watched Luke first though, so when he showed up in jessica jones I was pumped. Tough call.
Time to binge watch Daredevil and ill report back.
