On Saturday night, conservative columnist and diehard Donald Trump booster Ann Coulter attended a Comedy Central roast, and things went about as well as you might expect. Coulter was there as one of the assigned roasters for Rob Lowe, joining a gallery of comedians and Hollywood celebrities ready to poke fun at the 52-year-old actor. However, the event’s meanest, most brutal one-liners were directed not at the subject, but at fellow roaster Coulter.

“Ann is one of the most repugnant, hateful, hatchet-face bitches alive,” standup comic Jimmy Carr asserted. “It’s not too late to change, Ann. You could kill yourself!”

“The only person you will ever make happy is the Mexican who digs your grave,” comedian Nikki Glaser said.

“If you are here, Ann, who is scaring the crows away from our crops?” Pete Davidson, a comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member, asked. Davidson also called Coulter a “racist ****” during the taping.

“I do want to say as a feminist that I can’t support everything that’s been said tonight,” singer-songwriter Jewel said. “But as someone who hates Ann Coulter, I’m delighted.”

A spokeswoman for SNL told The Daily Beast that Davidson is “declining all press requests” at the time. "Everybody has such thin skin," Coulter emailed The Daily Beast, reacting to the jabs. "Bless their hearts, they were trying to be funny."

Coulter does not appear to have a deep or public connection to Lowe, leaving many critics and observers wondering what she was doing on Comedy Central’s roster of roasters. The two of them have, however, tweeted about each other in late 2013.

The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe is set to air on Labor Day.

So what you're saying is, you've never seen any of the Comedy Central roasts. EVERYONE there gets that kind of treatment... or worse.

To her credit, and I don't credit her much, Coulter understood that it was a joke.

believe it or not that can be considered mild for a roast
Ive seen a bunch of them and they are crazy funny and extreme

Here's a few of the gems.

Nikki Glaser: “The only person you will ever make happy is the Mexican who digs your grave.”

Peyton Manning: “I’m not the only athlete up here. As you know, earlier this year, Ann Coulter won the Kentucky Derby.”

Davidson: “If you are here, Ann, who is scaring the crows away from our crops?”

Lowe: “After seeing your set tonight, we’ve seen the first bombing you can’t blame on a Muslim.”

Jeff Ross: “Ann is against gay marriage. What is your thinking on that? If I can’t get a husband, they can’t either?”

Jewel: “I do want to say as a feminist that I can’t support everything that’s been said tonight. But as someone who hates Ann Coulter, I’m delighted.”

Rob Riggle: “If Ann Coulter is here, someone must have said her name three times. Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!”

And perhaps the harshest, from Jimmy Carr: “Ann is one of the most repugnant, hateful, hatchet-face bitches alive. It’s not too late to change, Ann. You could kill yourself.”

Are people still on about a 'roast'? Holy ****...have people never seen any of these events and the things they say to one another???

yep seems on course with the rest of the ones I seen, I can't wait to watch this one!

To those who seem to think there are some who don't understand the concept of a roast. $%^& &*^. I just enjoy seeing Ann Coulter get hers.

A bunch of rich liberal ******s get up on stage to complain about how unfair life is. Sums it up. I stopped watching the roasts when they stopped having talent on their.

A conservative suggesting liberals aren't funny. As if conservatives have a sense of humor? That's why there are so few funny right wing comedians. Way too uptight.

It is an industry dominated by people who would rather complain and criticize people for a living. It doesn't require real work. Of course there aren't many conservatives in it.

Since she's not a friend of Lowe's, but they've sparred on Twitter, my guess is this was a setup for Coulter jokes to keep it punched up, and both she and Lowe knew that.

So many conservatives don't seem to have a good sense of humor.

Meh. If conservatives Harped on a liberal hag (Rosie o piggel, or one of the nimrods on the view, or maybe that dip**** Lena Dunham) the left would be up in arms defending her as a saint. Pretty much the size of it. And we can't forget that the left would also call it sexism. So...yea...it really isn't about "sense of humor." Besides...it was roast. They have gone way down hill recently.

It's hard to be funny when you are so concerned with other people's marriages and sex lives. It ****s with your sense of humor.

So what? I guarantee you Coulter doesn't care - she just got a s__ton more free publicity to promote her latest book, which is all she really cares about.

No, that's actually not what it was about at all.

But if it makes you feel better to pretend that it was, by all means, keep pretending.

Some wold have. And they would have missed the joke, just like these conservatives in this forum have. But liberals are more likely to get the joke. Liberals just have a better sense of humor. How many conservative comedians can you think of?

But no doubt about it...this was part of the program, and planned. No surprise to anyone in attendance or who watches roasts, incl. Lowe and Coulter. Because they aren't friends. They are sparring partners. So CLEARLY she wasn't invited as a friend of Lowe's to roast him.

It might have very well been a roast, but it wasn't supposed to be a roast directed at Ann Coulter in particular. I also don't believe for a single second that any of those comments either defaming Ms Coulter, or even blatantly calling for her death, were "jokes."

No, to the contrary, the bottom line here is that hateful Lefty ideologies used the pretense of a "roast" to cross the line of basic decency in telling a certain member of the audience - whom they all happen to vehemently dislike - exactly how they felt about her. Frankly, I can't say I'm surprised by that.

It's pretty much "par for the course" as far the blind rage of the Left Wing "collective" which dominates mainstream media is concerned. You're either with them... Or you're evil human garbage who deserves to die screaming, and against which almost any extreme of aggressive behavior can be justified. There seems to be very little middle ground between the two.

These particular aggressors simply happened to have chosen a socially acceptable venue for your their ad hominem barrage.

Finally watched it last night!!!! It was hilarious!!!!
Like I said earlier it was a pretty basic roast, funny with no holds barred jokes slinging left and right for everybody!

Anybody that thinks this roast was magically different or somehow Ann was an unfair or exaggerated target simply has never seen a roast, doesn't understand them or is biased themselves and thats where the issue was.

The only bad think that actually happened to Ann was she bombed when it was her turn.

In fact if I had to ignore the history of what happens at a roast, how rough they can get with their jokes and ignore reality Id say the things that I would find harse have nothing to do with ANN. If i was going to be oversensitive and act like all these things were real the repeated statutory rape jokes, Manning is basically retarded jokes and the two worst were the AIDs jokes about Sheen who wasnt even there and about Pete Davidson Fathers who dies during 911. Again if i ignore reality those would be much more offensive to me then the Ann jokes.

Since I cant ignore reality though none of them bothered me and its extra funny today that the ann jokes did bother some, makes them even more of a hit then they actually deserve to be. There is simply no rational or logic behind being bothered by the ann jokes and ignoring the rest. Anybody who does is simply showing their biased.

A roast isn't a safe space, brah. Maybe you should stay on campus.

Some people lack class and perspective regardless of the environment. These so called "comedians" certainly do.

Greetings, Gathomas88. :2wave:

I don't care how hardened or urbane a person appears to be; they are still human with feelings, and I believe they cry inside. That's one reason I despise vicious roasts - they're cruel and meant to hurt! Good-hearted roasting is funny - being deliberately insulting is not!

The environment... of a comedy central roast? Have you never, ever watched one before?
