Stranger Things

Episode one season 4 sucked balls. I’m not sure I’m gonna continue. I was hesitant anyway after the disaster season 3. All the little “cute” relationships they have going on is nauseating. It’s looking like they will be checking all the boxes with interracial couples, lesbians and homosexuals this season.

Mong, these things were already in place by the end of Season 3. So sorry that modern values trigger you. :)
 
First two episodes of this season were a mess just like the first two of last season. Haven't seen the sixth but 3, 4, and 5 were more focused and enjoyable, although the Russia storyline doesn't add anything to this point.

The charm of some of the child actors isn't carrying over as they've grown older. Hope the writers have a plan to wrap the series up with season 5.

They have said its only going to be 5 seasons, but this is only the first half of season 4. The next half comes July 1st

Yeah, heard we'll have wait until July to finish out this season. Give Netflix some credit on giving the show a bigger budget, think overall production has been good an has had quality CGI.

Don't know what happened with the writing for the first couple episodes the last couple of seasons.
 
I've watched two episodes of season 4 and both were crap. Episode 3 better pull me in or it's over.

I don't like any of the characters anymore except Wynona Ryder's character. The new long black straight haired stoner character is horrific. He is completely unfunny.

The two new characters add nothing and the shows attempts to be funny mostly fail. Think the shows popularity left the writers with the dilemma of stretching out the intial storyline and adding others which haven't amounted to much.

I'm not optimistic for a strong finish, but we'll finish out the series. Hopefully the the actors won't be married with children when season 5 comes out. Lol

Like the music.. Kate Bush is enjoying the revival of her song Running Up That Hill, knew the song from Meg Meyers cover.

The worst part is how hard they try to be funny. Also, it feels like every character is over acting.

I’m pretty sure I owned a Kate Bush 8 track or cassette back in the day.

Episode 3 was much better. They got away from the foo foo coming of age story lines and got into the meat of the show.

Finished episode six, continues to get better as far as the storylines. The lighter moments still seem abit forced.

To be fair, some of the intial appeal of the show for adults was nostalgia for the time period. Trying to keep the show interesting for all ages is a tough balancing act.

Who’s modern values?

The kid making googly eyes at his friend is awkward and unnecessary.

I have nothing against interracial couples, lesbians or gays. I have a problem with movies, commercials, TV shows etc. Introducing these characters as if they must meet a quota or have an agenda.

The first 3 seasons were great. I have a had time getting into the 4th season. Not as good as the last three

If you can get past the first two episodes it gets much better. If they just took out all of the relationship junk this show would be good.

I agree.

It's less "Stranger" and more hormonal.

I've never liked Mike and this season hasn't helped me in that regard.
 
The way the clock chimes is very creepy.
 
I think you guys are crazy. Season 4 is fantastic. It's darker which makes sense as the kids are all getting older and we finally have a villain with some layers.

First two episodes stunk. It is very entertaining now that they are actually into the story. I bet they lost a lot of viewers after episode 1.

At first, I was pissed that they added so many new characters, until I realized that they added a lot.

I will say it's difficult to binge-watch, when some of the episodes are as long as a full-length movie. I mean - if you have that much material, just spread it out across a 5th season.

Dang.

I'm loving it, though. I have loved every season.

I'm sure that they will be crushed that a handful of homophobes and racists won't tune in.

That's not really the demographic they are going for, anyway. They are more of a cerebral show, so they go for actual thinkers instead of mouth-breathers with single-digit IQs.

It's hard to imagine many viewers getting turned off by episode 1 to the point of hitting the eject button. Odds are if you made it to season 4, you're all in. It's like abandoning Game of Thrones after the first couple episodes of the last season: yeah, the last season sucked, but if you made it that far, you're in it til the bitter, bitter end.

Not that I don't like season 4. It's not perfect, but it's still quite good.

I haven't finished the season yet so I could be wrong (I'm at episode 6), but the Russia story line doesn't feel necessary. In fact, the Arizona story line doesn't feel super necessary either. I guess it'll all get tied up in the end.

We were frustrated at how much it jumped back and forth, but I absolutely loved episode 7. Out****ingstanding.

I was not pumped to watch season 4 in the first place. I thought season 3 was terrible. I was ready to pitch it after episode 2 but I started to hear that it got much better after that.

Stranger Things is not in the same ball park with Game Of Thrones. GOT is an all time great show. It lasted several years. There was a huge interest in finding out how it all ended.
