OK you Walking Dead fans, need some advice.

I watched the TV show thru the third series. Stopped for multiple of reasons, basically have not had time and cut down on my TV viewing. However, I would like to pick it back up, would I be lost skipping series 4 and 5 for now and picking it back up in season 6? I am allot more selective in my viewing habits lol But did enjoy the top notch acting and writing.

I really do not have the time to cram 4 and 5 into my schedule. Maybe in the future

I wouldn't skip 'em

You won't be lost the whole series is about running away, finding some place safe new characters new bad guys and running away again. You will have missed some good storylines but season 6 looks to be really good apparently the bad guy makes the governor look like a Boy Scout.

yeah pick up here and see if you are into it enough to go back over it

a lot has happened though

I was in the Docs office and an episode of Season 6 was being previewed on the tube, remembered what a great show it is. Its well thought out, which you can not say for some of the dribble the cable companies make us pay for lol

Thanks all for responding

The problem with skipping is if you enjoy the series you will eventually want to go back and watch those other two seasons. If you have watched season sic then it will kill some of the suspense of the previous seasons since you will know who is alive and who isn't.

Not only this (good points) but you will also miss the evolution and development of the characters.

Aww man. A lotta **** went wrong in this episode.

I do not know under which star Glenn was born under but I wouldn't bet against him at craps, dude is crazy lucky!

Exit question: will that luck run out when they introduce Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan?

In the comic Negan apparently kills Glenn

Yep yep, but Carol was supposed to kill herself back at the prison and they jumped the script on that one. But I dunno, Maggie's life takes a definitive path after Negan kills Glenn. So we will see.

That montage of the characters chopping up the zombies was laugh out loud funny. As was Ricks little flashback scene while his missus got eaten.

Damn.

Really wasn't expecting them to kill off the whole freaking family this soon. I'm not sure if I like it. Seems like an awfully convenient way to simply preserve the existing status quo no questions asked.

Also interesting to note that it was Carol being a creep which ultimately triggered the kid's freak out. I wonder if anything will come of that.

Apart from that, it was an awesome episode. I especially liked the intro scene with the rocket launcher.

yeah I noticed that "trigger" too...do you think more will come of it?

Every once in a while. I've never made a huge habit of it though. :)

Were they talking about it?
damn that's what I was going to ask you...lol...I fell asleep 20 minutes into it...they had Carrie Underwood on  she said "like" so many times I wanted to slap her

they had one of the directors on and he was speaking about how they did a light weight mock up so that Rick could carry Karl when he was shot, and the mock up was amazing...simply amazing...apparently when he got shot by Ron, bone fragments went into the eye

they said it was hard to kill off Jessie since she had become such a big part of the show...as soon as Sam freaked one pretty much knew they were toast

they also apparently used propane for the lake of fire since it is less toxic and easier to control than gas....it was apparently a big burn

I was looking for them to speak about the symbolism involved comparing it to the barn fire ... I don't know if they did as I was busy catching zzzz's

Yeah. I've never been able to get into it. For one thing, I usually work through the actual airing of the show, so I have to watch it on DVR when I get home.

For another, the guests are often kind of annoying, and actually don't anything more about the show than you do.

I was wondering about that fire though. You'd think that it would burn for a long time, and create a lot of smoke. It might lead Negan right to them.

yes Negan is coming

Did you notice in the previews Rick and the boys are all cleaned up and looking good so obviously they are able to get the wall back up and things back to "normal"

I like that the Rev and Eugene finally both grew a pair. I thought it was a huge leap when Rick trusted him to take Judith...Jessie should have gone with him and taken Sam...I kind of felt like that was the worst call ever, he should have gone to the church

the other guest was the Wolf who died...he is an Aussie with a super cool accent and he had an excellent understanding of the character he played and he had some good comments too.

Part of the real appeal of long running shows is the extraordinary character development that you get to enjoy/savor.
In the past it was most often encountered with things like sitcoms or soaps. Now that we can enjoy better writing, production value and thank god SETTING, with that long character development, it's really quite something.

Since each season was good overall, I see no value in skipping, and you miss out on the timeline. I would maybe go so far as to say if you're only going to watch one season, simply watch the next one you haven't seen.

I hate spoilers from the comic on this damn you all :p
But I do hope Glen doesn't die, his character has been in this show, a survivor. Maybe season finale one of the core cast could bite it, but I'd hate to see it happen before then personally. We have Game of Thrones for that :p

Carl with an eye patch sounds fun.
