Post here if you like to talk about your musical instruments and/or gear. I have an EVH Wolfgang Special guitar and 5150 Overdrive pedal being shipped to me as we speak that I'm pretty excited about!

Do you like Union Station? They're one of my faves!

And the Hot Club Of Cowtown.

if you want van halen's sound, buy a splawn quickrod
scott splawn used to mod marshalls. that's how i found him. but his own amps, especially the quickrod, are even better and will put you right in VH territory

When I was in high school I pretended to play bass and keys in a band. Had a 64' P-Bass, an odd Ovation bass with a pretty natural wood finish and pickups like on the old Gibson Jack Bruce used to play with Crème, a Minimoog, a Korg Polysix, Moog Taurus II pedals and a cheesy electronic piano of unknown origin.

When I bought the Minimoog (1986 - and which I still have) I was actually going to buy a Yamaha CS-80 which the guy was selling for just $200. It was sold before I got there. I understand those CS-80's go for up to $15,000 in good nick now.

Speaking of musical instruments and gear, my son has one of these bad boys...

And when he attaches one of these, he can do amazing things and make sounds you wouldn't believe.

I had to get a tube amp for my 5150 pedal to sound decent. I like this one, it's the Blues Junior 3, and I get pretty close to EVH's tone for about $600 less than the EVH combo amp would've cost me.

read this to see if there is a speaker out there that offers the amp the voice you are seeking
The Right Speaker for your Blues Junior – Billm Audio

good choice
you have an amp that will sound good dialed in at small venues
and one that will sound good when dialed in using the PA at larger venues

scored a Grosh electrajet recently for a good price. planned to flip it for a quick buck
maybe i lucked into a rare keeper, or maybe this guitar is representative of Grosh's current work
bottom line, this EJ is going nowhere. so, if you happen across a Grosh at a good price, check it out

Great link! I never thought of modifying this amp, but it looks like many people do according to the reply section.
