Cindy McCain wears a 300k outfit at the convention

Me too. In fact, I'm thrilled our Govt has gone another $4 trillion in debt over the past 7 years so that wealthy folks can afford to buy more stuff like that.

How in the hell are the two related.

Go to the forum section titled "economics" and read the threads about tax policy, revenues and deficits.

So do you think taxing the beer baroness would help the national debt and all that or do you think it would raise beer prices.

Given that the price of beer is constrained by the market, the former rather than the latter.

Right so an across the board windfall profits beer tax to keep that chick in proletariate line, the beer co's would accept a meager living before they raised prices.:lol:

Despite what you may think, government doesn't go into debt to pay most of our salaries. Most of us work for a living and strive to earn as much as we can, to spend/invest it as we see fit.

But don't fear, if Obama gets in you won't see many wealthy folks buying anything - what few remain anyway. If his vision is finally realized, we'll all end up making the same thing and we can all live in harmony. That's CHANGE and HOPE baby, embrace it.

Isn't that then being disrespectful holier than thou/ I'm better than you attitude rather than anything to do with educational levels?
Why was educational level the only one you singled out?
In otherwords, just what do you mean by "elitist"?

Because its the other side of the political argument about just who is the elitist in this campaign. One side has the wealthy elite, the other side has the intellectual elite.
There are other varying forms of elitism. Look at the Hollywood elite. Why are they elite? Their looks. Professional caliber athletes can have elitist attitudes because of their popularity gained by their demostration of their physical skill. Even counter cultures have an elite attitude about them. They think they are better than other people because they refuse to adhere to the cultural norms, and won't have anything to do or respect people outside their circle.

Yes, how CLASSLESS of her. I mean, to think, coming to a convention where you husband is the guest of honor and looking nice. HOW DARE SHE!

Jesus christ aps, you're talking as if she was out there in a belly shirt with earrings hanging down to her breasts.

She was in a nice outfit, with some necklaces, and earrings that didn't look atll that amazing and likely don't unless you get up.

Wow, how horrible.

I bet you Obama and McCain and Biden and Romney didn't buy their suits from Walmart. THE CLASSLESS FOOLS! Why buy an Armani or some other kind of nice, designer suit when you don't HAVE to wear it. Show some class you egotistical elitist snobs, dress down! I demand to see you in K-mart wear immedietely while making Cindy make her own dress out of drapes.

Is it okay for me to think someone is classless and for you to disagree? I sure hope so.

Is it okay for me to think someone is classless and for you to disagree? I sure hope so.

It definitely is. And its perfectly okay for me to ask you to hold such standards that if they're dressed overly nice in high priced clothes and accessories then they're classes to both parties. Do you think Obama was in some $100 wal-mart suit and not some designer, name brand, expensive one? Is he classless for showing up in something more expensive then is needed?

Does anybody know if Vanity Fair did a price check on the clothing worn at the DNC?

In watching the Democratic convention, I didn't see Michelle Obama wearing expensive jewelry. Her dresses looked nice. The first night of the convention, Cindy McCain wore some weird dress. My husband asked, "What the hell is Cindy McCain wearing?" It looked over the top. My husband made fun of Joe Biden's cufflinks on the night he gave his speech.

Cindy screams $$$$$ in the way she dresses. I think she should be toning her wardrobe while campaigning. She looks like an elitist in my opinion. If I were a blue-collar worker, I would see her and think she could NEVER relate to me. Heck, as a white-collar worker, I see her and think she cannot understand me. Yes, it's her husband running for President, but, sorry, she's on the campaign trail with him. I'm just surprised that she doesn't have the sense to be more conservative in how she dresses.

I agree. The Govt goes into debt when its revenues are less than its expenditures. That is what happened after 2000, when taxes were cut and revenues fell hundreds of billions.

But don't fear, if Obama gets in you won't see many wealthy folks buying anything - what few remain anyway. If his vision is finally realized, we'll all end up making the same thing and we can all live in harmony. That's CHANGE and HOPE baby, embrace it.

I reckon Obama won't go back to the good old days in the 1950s and 1960s when the top tax rates were 91% and 70%. I think he's more likely to return to the Clinton days with a top rate of about 40%. Somehow, in spite of that, a few folks were able to make money in the 90s.

But in lieu of running up another $4 trillion in debt, that CHANGE and HOPE is what I'm embracing, baby.

McCain has demonstrated himself to be a wealthy elite that is completely out of touch with the rest of the nation.

YouTube - John McCain: Your Economic Problems Are Psychological

If that doesn't demonstrate wealthy elitist who thinks he knows, then I don't know what is.

If you are asserting though that he is an academic elitist that knows his ****, no argument here. On the other hand, if not, I am genuinely curious as to what you think think accredits to the form of academic elitist disconnect that Obama may have demonstrated.

I personally think that there are far bigger issues to focus on in this election than how expensive someone's outfit was based on an article from Vanity Fair magazine that shows an estimated cost.

Yeah like a guy who has seven houses and is worth tens of millions calling a guy whose mom was on welfare and put himself through law school on scholarships and student loans an "elitist."

Exactly.

He wasn't talking about wealth making anyone elitist. You would like to spin it that way, but it's just that, more of your pointless and dishonest spin.

Obama is an elitist. He can talk Pennsylvannians one way and then we gets with his latte sucking buddies in San Francisco, he totally belittles them for enjoying their second amendment rights, first amendment rights, and their faith.

Elitist. You just need to get over the fact that this is what Uhbama is.

Right because jallman and the right are the last word here. Sorry, I don't agree with you and you have failed to make the case that would sway my mind on the issue. Obama's actions throughout his life's work make him anything but an elitist. You are the one being dishonest in an effort to dismiss his rise from nothing to a being a stellar academic and true community leader. Obama served the people in his community from the beginning. You can't deny that. Elitist? Hardly. Very intelligent, very capable? Absolutely? A threat to McCain and Palin. Without a doubt. Get after him, hit him wherever you can, however you can. You'll not want to waste a minute.

Right because jallman and the right are the last word here.

Well wasn't that just a shining example of stating your case with eloquence and grace? Did you have your thumbs in your ears and wiggle your fingers at me with your tongue out when you thought of that one?

Sorry, I don't agree with you and you have failed to make the case that would sway my mind on the issue.

I never suffered the illusion that I would sway the mind of an Obamaniac drunk on the Kool-Aid so no loss on my part.

Obama's actions throughout his life's work make him anything but an elitist.

Would those be the actions that led him to pursue an elected office only to abandon it within 17 weeks to pursue the highest office to which he thinks he's entitled or would those be the actions that led him to belittle one section of the country to try and garner the affections of a more "elite" section of the country?

You are the one being dishonest in an effort to dismiss his rise from nothing to a being a stellar academic and true community leader.

So now we're replacing community "organizer" with community "leader"? Wow, the PR machine is in full force tonight around here...

Obama served the people in his community from the beginning.

Served or deigned to place his feet on their backs as he used them as a stepping stone to reach the place he wanted to be?

You can't deny that.

Oh but I can. I think Obama has served Obama's interests for a long time.

Quite.

Hearkening back to the beginning of your post and your own words: you haven't convinced me.

Very intelligent, very capable?

Oh yes, very intelligent and very capable of grabbing for power wherever he can. Capable of running this country? Not even close.

Absolutely?

I already said no.

A threat to McCain and Palin.

And a threat to the entire nation. Let's not forget the important things here.

Without a doubt.

...one of the most palpable threats to the American people and the country we love.

Get after him, hit him wherever you can, however you can. You'll not want to waste a minute.

I'll do just that at the voting booth. I will also be certain to make the case for McCain every chance I get.

You should be worried about Palin, though. Not me.

We shall agree to disagree.

What are we gonna talk about after November?

I know what I'll be hearing, Obama sucks this country is doomed!

Ummm...Cindy McCain is a woman. The whole John Edwards haircut thing wasn't about him being rich...it was about him being a bigger fag than my boyfriend.
:2rofll:
