Since many of us might be spending more time at home while the virus is going around ... who is up for setting up some video gaming groups?

We could do XBox, Playstation, Steam, and Nintendo groups!

You guys need to quit playin around. This is serious. It's also a relative pronoun. Straighten up, and be glum. Eat nasty stuff. Turn off your electrcity and water. Check out your neighbors for looting prospects. Playin games....pffft.

Anyone here play Satisfactory? I might actually try multiplayer with that.

Never tried it, but maybe!

It is kinda a cross between Factorio and Subnautica. I think I got a screenshot from when I first started:

And here is a look at what you can do:

The last time I tried the other user bitched about it because they were in Europe.

That is basically why I don’t do multiplayer, but I would for DP. I goofed around with Jallman a couple games and that was fun.

I joined, but I have not been put on quarantine just yet. Even when I am home I'm a sporadic gamer, filing in the times between family as I'm free. I'd most likely be available from 6am-8am EST any morning and 930pm to whenever most nights.

Also, since the rest of the house is sleeping when I game, I prefer multiplayer games that are turn based so that conversation can happen in chat rather than on mic. On mic I'd need to whisper.

Anyway, Steam handle is the same as my forum handle: jmotivator

Hit me up on Steam usually after 930pm most days. I'm usually on for a short period after work before dinner, but then it's family time until they all go to bed.

I really suck at shooters, though I love them solo. I tried to fire up Planetside 2 this weekend and was so bad that I died 10 times with zero kills before I gave up.

Games with a leisurely pace are good for me. The most fun I have in multiplayer is games like For The King and Blood Bowl.

What? Get back in there, damn you! Join my outfit, we're on the West Coast server.

Bump for steam, right now we have 3 members total.

I’ll probably end up in quarantine eventually. I sit in the back of an airliner every. Single. Week. I spend half my nights in hotels, and therefore almost half my dinners are in a restaurant. (Or were!) Outside of healthcare workers, there’s no higher risk group than me.

If I get so much as a runny nose, I’m locking myself down. Stellaris has a big new update today.

Any Minecraft players? Modded or otherwise? I could host a server

If anyone is playing Planetside 2, Im on the Connery server (West Coast). Add me as a friend: PoS2

In, as "Lord_Beavis". I suppose I could have changed my profile name to Mr Person, but whatever. Thus far, I only use some variant of that on two boards (including this one), and a chat elsewhere. Same avatar will have to do.

Though I mostly use Steam for outdated single-player RPG games that won't otherwise run. Apart from those, I suppose I have Stellaris, but I've stopped playing it since each game takes centuries. I do have Civ 5. Let's see...CoD Black Ops. Though I haven't played it.

Mainly played CoD 4, but got sick of what had to be hacking. As in, I'll spawn behind a fence, will be completely hidden, and BOOM dead. Kill cam then shows some guy far away was hiding out in a building and for no apparent reason, just spun and fired at the fence at the exact spot where I sat on the other side. I was completely invisible to the shooter in these situations, not having moved, thrown grenades, or anything that would reveal position. (And on servers that didn't have that ..I forget what it's called, but the thing that can give you markers on the map where enemy players are for X seconds, once you get a certain number of kills in a row). Yeah right. Still wouldn't be averse to trying some DMs over Black Ops.

Looks like I also have Torchlight II. I did play that a bunch when I got sick of Diablo III.

Appears I picked up Xcom2 at some point. Never played it. I only have so much time for gaming in a given night... largely been in Elder Scrolls Online. But I periodically get bored with it and do other things.

I've been a longtime solo shooter player.

Just started playing Modern Warfare online a couple weeks ago.

And got slaughtered like I never played a shooter in my life.

Lots of time in the bot lobbies and gun selection and now I just kinda suck, but not enough to offend teammates.

Turned out a burst fire AR plays into my timing from all those sniper games.

Only PS4. I haven't played anything in months but might sometime this year.

That might be the best turn based strategy game ever. Single player only is such a disappointment and I had game losing crashes on the higher difficulties. Otherwise, it's gold.

I was a Civ 4 fan (Zerks or Cav whip). Xcom2 does a ship building thing for generating resources and has a tech tree. Squad size turn based combat system.

You dig some, build some, spend resources to upgrade stuff, pick which 6 of one's about 20 soldiers to take on the mission, their gear (sniper, shotgun, mg, etc) and then it drops into the turn based.

I've been thinking about playing something. I might play that again, crush some easy setting with leet build and tech order.

I assume you mean no coop play? XCom2 did have a head-to-head multiplayer that was pretty fun.

In case you play (I've played a couple games recently):

1. Build GTS.

2. Train 3 snipers and a ranger. An ideal squad as Ranger/Snipers is 2 rangers and 4 snipers. 2/2, then 2/3 and 2/4 as possible. In basic game, personal compatibility and intelligence is not an issue, so any rookies will do. In WoC, high intelligence units with high compatibility are arranged in pairs, ranger-sniper, ranger-sniper and sniper-sniper.

As units will be damaged (and tired in WoC), fill-in units will be required, a couple rangers and a couple snipers, so keep building them after the A-team is assembled.

Shotgun modular upgrades (2 after first weapon class upgrade): Laser Sight and Auto-Loader.

Sniper rifle modular upgrades: Scope and Extended Magazine. I prefer hair-triggers instead of magazines early game, and instead of scopes late game. Early game one needs aim and late game one needs magazine capacity.

Keep the rangers camouflaged and the snipers on high ground behind them. The snipers can see the enemy because of the rangers (squad sight) but the enemies cannot see the snipers because they are too far away. The enemies can't see the rangers because they are camouflaged. The snipers are largely free to take shots without retribution or, often, even recognition of fire.

Research Officer Autopsy then Mech breakdown while building Proving Ground. Research Plated Armor (for the utility slot) while the Proving Ground does Bluescreen Protocol Project, and then make six (everyone uses) Bluescreen Ammo (in Engineering). Other ammo is neat but does not compare as virtually every big enemy is mechanical (walker, orb, specter, codex, andro-2, mechs, etc) and the bonus damage vs mech is too much and it applies to a sniper's pistol.

Spider Suits for the snipers. Grapple (a cable shot Batman device) is free movement to high ground within one or two action point worth of movement away (any height). Can grapple and fire sniper rifle same turn.
