So I bought my dad this Acurite 5 in 1 weather station about 5 years ago, with a nice display unit. I measure outside temp, relative humidity, rainfall, wind direction and speed, and sun light. So they came out with a capability to share the data with others including Weather Underground. So you can connect my display unit (which has a MAC address) to a computer USB port, and use a PC app that downloads the data to your Acurite account. So if you download their phone app you can get all this data on your phone. Really cool. They have newer display unit that have antennae so you can connect via WiFi.
There's a photo here. Pro Color Weather Station with PRO+ 5-in-1 Sensor, PC Connect, Wind Speed, and Rain Gauge
So I recently brought this station home, and installed it out in my yard. The phone app actually gives you weather for the week.
