I buy about 10 games for every one I actually play.
I don't like 3rd persons games. I don't like most console ports. Either the controls are messed up, or silly puzzles that can only be done by a teen drinking Red Bull (I am 67).
Being 67, I can't play fighting games against teens drinking Red Bull. I do like internet coop, like Borderlands.
I just got Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, and while there are things I like about it, the fighting seems console-ish, and it seems silly. You want to get into hell. No problem, but it's like you are in apt courtyard, and need to beat everybody in all the other apartments to get in. If they were caretakers, they should come out and say high.
I tried Witcher 3, but holding the button until you wanted to strike bothered me, and it looked like the fighting was going to get very console-ish.
Dishonored was alright, but it didn't hold my interest.
I have been playing Skyrim a lot, too much, really. Need something new, and Elder Scrolls 6 won't be out for a year or two.
I like Mechwarrior, but on Steam it's horribly repetitive. Loved Mechwarrior 2. That came free with the first real video game card ever made. Loved Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2 was good, but lacked the goofy purity (not really a great choice words there) that the first one had. "This planet smells like hemmoroids wrapped in bacon." Not something you hear every day..
Long time ago, I loved Warbirds, but it changed. That was the last flying game I played a lot. I liked Total Annihilation, and it was the last strategy game I played a lot. I still play it occasionally, but its always the same map, I give myself extra resources, quickly build impenetrable defense, and then build 2 nuke launchers. I think try to obliterate everything but the first guy, that would end the game. Portal was wonderful, but as a rule I hate puzzles.
I am considering getting a new game or two. I was thinking of getting Witcher 3 and trying to change the controls to the classic style. Kinda doubt that would work.
Open to suggestions.
TIA.
