Ark Survival - Anyone playing on the PS4

Hey...been getting deep into Ark Survival - yes, yes, late to the game, I know, but better late than never, and I'm loving it....probably one of the most awesome "grinds" in a survival game ever...I like dinos. :p

Anyone else been playing this?

I don't, but one of my favorite Twitch streamers, Skinnedteen, used to play it regularly with often hilarious results. :lol:
 
Ark is okay, but becomes a little tedious with single player. Really is best with a few friends on a server.

Played it for a while on PC. Great game but public servers were all jammed up with other users. No place to build. Private game was fine but I could only get so far before a T-Rex ate me.

There's something about a game which requires one to collect dinosaur poo that just can't be beat!

I was looking at jumping into either Ark or Age of Conan. It looks like Age of Conan uses the engine from the MMO they tried to develop...which was pretty gorgeous.

I got me a private server, if anyone is interested... :) Literally just starting a new world. If you guys are interested, might be fun. Right now I've only got 10 slots, but could be expanded if there's interest... Setting it up as PVE right now, but could be persuaded to change it up. I have XP and harvesting a bit buffed in the settings, as I want to try all the maps, and the progression can be a little slow on default...

PM me if you're into it. :) I'm usually online after 8:30pm EST, till 10:00ish on week nights and...hehe...significantly later on the weekends.

Edit: only disclaimer: no political debate whilst killing dinos (or collecting their poop...lol) Also, headset is a must.

Nah, unfortunately... This is a PS4 server.

Seriously, though, these game devs need to do way more with cross platform gaming, especially for the big co-op / pvp titles.

I may be interested but life is busy as heck right now so playing time would be extremely limited and unpredictable.

Cool, man, I've definitely got some spare slots. :) PM when you're ready to go, we'll work out a time to meet for the first go around, and then after that it's pretty much open.

Yep. It got kinda boring. I enjoy PVP, but sadly it ended up just being yet another death match game. Then I discovered off line protected raiding pvp servers. I didn’t fully explore them, but they just didn’t seem as much fun. I may go back. It is hard to enjoy with the alpha jerks. I love the idea though. Still kinda fun. I wish we had an Arma life type role play game for ps4.

hehe...I'm not a fan of "alpha jerks"... :) People who take themselves too seriously don't tend to last long on my servers. If you ever want to give it a shot, PM me, I'd be happy to have you on my server, if you're a PS4 player. To start, since I'm just putting the server together, it's going to be PVE, which is a good way to get to know the other folks on the server, there's a setting in PVE that allow different tribes to "agree" to PVP raids... So, PVP events might be awesome. Mainly I just want to avoid a lot of griefing...
