Anyone planning to get one of these. I bought the NES classic last year and I was glad I did since Nintendo only made the one batch.

I picked one up just now, I guess there are some perks to being the manager of a retail store

Can you still get games for it?

It comes with 21 games

Mario
Mario Kart
Donkey Kong
Zelda
Star Fox
F-zero
Street fighter 2 turbo

Pretty much all the games you would want for a SNES

Don't need to get it. I use emulators and roms. ;)

And for those of use who don't wish to resort to piracy... jk

Emulators just never seem to get it right and the controller isn't the same. Also the NES classic could be hacked to add games I'm hoping the SNES can too. Only a few games I would want to add. NBA Jam TE comes to mind.

You can buy super nintendo and nintendo after market systems if you still have the original cartridge games for them. If you just wanted those games, you could always you roms plus they sell usb controllers for nes snes n64 etc.

roms never seem to work the exact same and the I had cartridges are long gone. Though I might get one that does play the cartridges because there are a few games I would like to play but most of them get pretty awful reviews. The atari one they released recently was good but the genesis one was really bad.

I love those old games. Congrats on your purchase! Have fun!

For those interested in old-school gaming, do yourself a favor and look into this.

I gave that a quick look....I like old school RPGs and strategy RPGs. Shining Force series, ogre battle series, fire emblem, secret of mana, etc.

I was actually looking into getting a wii. Would these work just as well? I've had mixed results with roms.

Does it have secret of mana? Earth bound?

I spent years gathering roms and emulators. They are pretty cool. I just wish I could get virtua fighter III to work.

never could.

Old arcade, console roms, and handheld roms work like a charm. All the games you mentioned, as long they're older. The Wii and GameCube Fire Emblem games are too much for it, and Ogre Battle 64 is stuttery. But the SNES/GBA games run smooth and silky. The Wii emulates really well, but its library is very limited.

It's library is limited, but it has all of the games I mentioned. The one I really want is ogre battle 64, as I'm a huge fan of the series.

Heck, I was also considering a PSP, as they can be had for 50 bucks, and most of the games are under 20.

I've run roms for secret of mana and shining force. Shining force worked well, secret of mana, I could never get a game controller to work, and it's def not a great key board game. Plus it lagged, and got choppy. And I was never able to find an emulator that could run ogre battle, sadly.

I haven't seen people get great results with N64 games, but Secret of Mana works perfectly with a USB controller on a Raspberry Pi running RetroPie.

Can I play Skyrim on it?

;)
