They're essentially paid mods, with "Bethesda Buck" credit system.
Here's a story to highlight what is in it at launch.

To make matters worse, the content is preloaded to your HD, with the last update.
Essentially they're adding a pay wall to existing content you already have.
They're adopting some of the worst behaviors of the gaming industry.
Premium priced game, multiple DLCs and now micro transactions.

The second worst part is that most/all of the paid "mini DLCs" can be gotten for free, with better polish/features.

These "buy this stuff to look cool" kind of things don't bother me. It's not like I need to make these purchases to advance in the game.

I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online (another Bethesda game) and they've had the "Crown Store" since nearly the beginning. You can buy costumes and critters to ride and stuff but you don't need any of it to play the game or advance in the game. Hell, most of what's being sold you can find in the game if you don't mind a whole lot of grinding.

I certainly don't understand adding microtransactions to Skyrim. It was a great game vanilla and it has about 1 trillion mods for free. What the hell is the point of paying for superficial **** like skins in a single player game?

Micro transactions were created for free to play games, not premium priced games.
The price points of the released content is ridiculous.
If the base game were priced similarly, it would cost over $80 for the weapons and armor alone.

The content is preloaded on your game, hidden behind a paywall.
Although they were dumb and didn't encrypt it, so you can covert it with a file converter and use it for free.

If this is how they're going to do things going forward, you could have day one dlc and micro transactions.
With all the content already installed on your system.

They mostly just recreated stuff already avialable for free, except for the PlayStation crowd.
They'll have to buy it, even though they said they weren't going to copy existing mods.
