Who is playing? Who is excited?

This will be my first full season, I started 1/3rd to 1/2 the way into 4. Only got to 1858 SR, most of the first half I spent learning how to play and find my toon, the back half was learning to be the best Junkrat I could be.

If you're playing and looking for people to play with, PM me and I'll share my tag, we can play. No politics!

The game is no fun competitively. Reinhardt is too strong, and mechanically he always will be. Every competitive game is the same boring shield fight on points.

The hells? Rein too strong? Are you kidding me? I love destroying Reinhardt

You're obviously at a very low skill level.

Yes, that must be it. I just can't hang with the super high players that can't drop a Reinhardt in short order. I play Junk, Rein is easy, specially if I can get behind him OR force him over my mortar. Shield no longer in play, easy kill. But high level players must not know this... You play on console by chance?

No I don't play on console. Clearly you don't know much about the game if you think Reinhardt isn't fundamentally broken and ruins Overwatch competitive play.

What's your main?

I usually fill, otherwise I play the hog. Don't play often anymore though.

the games changed quite a bit. The 3 tank murder ball is no more, Ana can't solo heal like she used too, they changed nano boost. Junk... isn't hurt by his own shots! That's an amazing change.

Oddly enough, this must be the first Blizzard game not out for Mac...

Ugh. I just don't like Windows, but it's increasingly looking like I'll have to build myself a gaming machine. Doom 5 isn't out for Mac either and may not be. Who knows if there will be another Quake, and Quake 4 is no longer supported. Ugh.

Alternative is slotting in another drive and using Bootcamp, but really, that's not going to get me the graphics I want.

I used to be great at Doom - Doom 3, & Quake 1-4.....especially Quake 4. Played FPS since Doom, as a little kid. Even built levels back then and put them up on AOL.

Not sure I like the sound of Overwatch, with the team build sounding like WoW Dungeons/Raids. I like FPS games where everyone spawns equally and must pick up weapons/armor.

To be blunt, I was not a fan. My son got a copy for PS4, I played, hated it, walked away. Then, during Season 4 I picked it up on sale...

Well that should tell you how sold I was on it. I can and do play tanks, healers and other DPS as the need arises, it's all about filling in the role you're best at that compliments the team. I have some regulars I play with, in fact not a night goes by that I don't get pinged because "Get in here girl, we need your Junk!" It's kind of an inside joke, but I'm really REALLY good with Junk and smart enough to switch when needed.

Overwatch is the exact opposite of the last statement as far as everyone being equal. It is certainly a fun game, but I would suggest you only get it if you have friends to play it with. Solo is as bad as you can get in an online game. It mostly consists of 12 year olds refusing to play a champ that benefits the team and then them calling each other the n word or fags all game long. If you're lucky, you won't hear them scream all match in their twelve year old squeaker voices.

That seems to be the problem with all of the games these days. It seems hard to find a group to play with nowadays. I've got a buddy at work that wants to get into overwatch so I might get into it, but I haven't really played a FPS since counterstrike.

Play it casually with friends; makes no sense getting competitive at this game in my early 30s without nearly the requisite time to develop/hone my skills to a high level so my excitement is pretty limited.

Essentially, yes. Which absolutely stinks. I was very annoyed when that first came to light. I would generally launch boot camp and swap over to my Windows boot to play it. However, recently I've begun to spend most of my time in Boot Camp. My main game is Heroes of the Storm, and I find it a lot easier to run it at a Super Wide Screen resolution in Windows compared to in MacOS, plus there's an automatic replay uploader app available for Windows that I use for uploading to a stats website. So it's not quite as frustrating now when I want to play Overwatch since I don't have to restart the entire system.

I've been playing since Closed Beta. The games incredibly fun. Lucio and Mei main here, with Soldier and Junk being my clear #2s. Haven't played a ton of competitive (I think I didn't actually bother to place in season 4), though generally finish in the high gold range to low plat range. I find that its FAR more enjoyable playing with a group rather than solo, and I've begun to enjoy some of the other modes (mystery heroes, 3v3) more than the normal game at times. King of the Hill maps (outside of Oasis, ugg not a fan) are far and away my favorite. I know, shocker from a Lucio main right? (BOOP!)

It's great for a short bit of time wasting, or a good long session with some friends, but generally I spend most of my time in HOTS

I screw around in HOTS sometimes, but only when some of my old gamer friends ask. I found the controls a little clunky, but that's almost certainly because I simply haven't played much yet. Maybe twenty or thirty games max. (It's odd because the controls/movement in Diablo III aren't all that different, and I've wasted plenty of hours on that one).

I think the only hero I've even tried is Raynor.

I'll probably end up giving in and buying Windows and using boot camp. I've just always disliked the system, despite much exposure. Come to think of it, I wonder if I've got room for a separate internal drive in my iMac. Better figure that one out.
