What I don't like about these types of awards is that the quality of the entrants decreases with time. In 10 years there will be entrants that will be mediocre games.

I feel that Mortal Combat should've made it. It was the first game that I recall that made an attempt at realistic graphics and the introduction of bloody violence, which was really a big deal for the time.

Sonic the Hedgehog before Donkey Kong? Freakin' kids and their retarded opinions. :p

Where the hell is Dragon's Lair? If they're gonna have a hall of fame, at least start with the absolute ground breakers. Sorry Halo, but you're not the first "first person shooter." Street Fighter II? What about the original? Shouldn't that be the ground breaker?

P.S. Get off my lawn.

Certainly before freaking Pokémon.

I dunno...monster collection with power up/evolution style formatting is a solid genre in it's own right.

Apparently, as best I can tell, those 3 classes are all that have been inducted. And, needless to say, I think their lists are for ****. So I have to bitch, and here goes:

Games that are picked that belong at this time(the rest do belong, but other games should have gone in first):

Doom - You could argue Wolfenstein, but Doom is probably a better choice
Pac-Man - yeah, this is obvious
Pong - well duh
Super Mario Brothers - you could argue that Super Mario Brothers 2 should go in first, but that is a quibble and debatable.
Sonic the Hedgehog - It was pretty revolutionary when it came out, and made the Sega competitive with the SNES.
Space Invaders - well duh
Pokemon - I do not know the best Pokemon game to go in, but the series is important enough to go in
Street Fighter 2 - I kinda hemmed and hawed about this, but the game was ****ing huge for a long time

Those that should not be in yet, but are:
Tetris - it was big, it was cool, but it did not have the impact of the alot of games.
World of Warcraft - FFS, that is just retarded. Games that should go in long before WoW include Ultima Online, Everquest, Anarchy Online and maybe even Asheron's Call. Plus, Warcraft itself should go in before WoW.
Legend of Zelda - This one is close, but without Final Fantasy 7 in, it should not be in.
The Oregon Trail - It would be an ok inductee, in a few more years.
The Sims - Before Sim City? Are they ****ing high?
Grand Theft Auto 3 - There are just way too many bigger games that should be in.
Donkey Kong - The big arcade games are covered, and Donkey Kong is just a huge step down from there. Maybe in 5 years or so.
Halo: Combat Evolved - Maybe in 10 years, maybe.

Games that should be in but are not yet, mostly long before any of the list above:
Civilization - the fact it is not yet inducted makes me wonder if the voters are brain damaged. Maybe the most important computer game ever.
Final Fantasy 7 - Do they not know how important the Final Fantasy series is to console games, and how Final Fantasy 7 changed what could and would be done not just with roleplaying games, but pretty much every single genre out there?
Tomb Raider - kinda invented the third person adventure game
Pool of Radiance - it was D&D, with a computer. How cool is that?!?
Wolfenstein - You can argue Doom was a more important game, but Wolfenstein invented the genre.
Centipede - OK, this makes my list just because it was my all time favorite arcade game.
Tecmo Super Bowl - If you don't know why, I pity you.
Edit: Sim City - sim games are kinda a huge ****ing deal, and Sim City invented the genre

Random rant: Their inducted games include 2 RPGs, zero strategy games, zero RTS games and few if any of the biggest games of all time. I am just awe inspired at how silly their list is.
