I'm starting a thread about this game because I think it deserves some renewed interest.
Ubi Soft seems to have finally pulled their head out of their nether regions and realized that the game they designed would never work as an MMO, and that forcing people to play the game as such was just no fun after you hit the level cap. They have finally realized that the game they built works MUCH better as an action RPG than an MMO, and the massive patch that rolled out Monday essentially changed the way the game is played in end game. They now have a tiered pseudo-Game+ format, but it doesn't force you to play through the story game again on each new tier. When you finish the story game you now work towards gearing up and unlocking higher tier enemies who drop better gear. The PvE map is now littered with roaming bosses, and the solo-able instances now drop gear of a level that moves you up in map tiers.
It now plays a lot more like the rejuvenated Diablo 3, making min-maxing and gear grinding fun again... if you like that sort of thing.
