Any good MMOs out there.....

The whole rep gate and armor gating just burned me out.
I remember when they first came out with the game.

It was a blast. Do what you want when you want.

It got old for me. Too many things on my task bar. Too many kill 10 rats quests. Then they dumbed down groups quests to where the whole game is solo.

ugg the collect boar meat in the lone lands quest was the worst. we need 25 boars but you will need to kill 100 of the things to get it.

Im partial to sandbox MMOs, but they are few and far between.

EVE
Darkfall

are about the only two I ever liked.

...that aren't first person shooters? I always liked character development and variability in power selection/growth. I almost despise (for reasons unknown to me) the idea of crafting. I'm just looking for something easy and not labor intensive.

I'm back into EVE. Having a blast this time. It's a thinking MMO.

Difficult to play casually though.

Easier then last time. I have two toons, one is mining, crafting other combat out in a GREAT Null sec corp. both under 45 days in, combat toon is flying a BS (well she COULD I'm just not yet... need MJD!)

Mobile apps are quicker less involved.
Most of the people that played mmi ran into real life hence moba's are so hot.

They can't take 5 hours any more.

oh they surely can. I work with a guy who prob has 4000 hours played on DOTA2

Depends on what you want to do really. You are probably not going to war in nullsec much casually, but mission running, mining and producing, those can be done no problem casually.

A moba takes 45 min maybe a hour.
That beats the 4 or 5 hours to do a raid run.

Not the way I do it. :) Mining and producing was almost a full time job on its own. I had two accounts, a POS to fuel to run t3 production, and then they added moons, grrr.

Well, that is not casual then.

Have to keep up with the Jones'. I would like to try faction combat though. I just would have to spend time learning combat, and getting in with people. Takes time to gain trust in that game. Anyone could be a goon spy.

The point is, you can play Eve casually. You won't have the same things in the same time as hardcore players(except skill points), but that is true of any game.

I dont think its any fun casually. Missions are the most boring thing you can do. Industry takes work to be successful. Fighting takes time too. You cant just hop in if you want to win.

I'm in the https://www.thevolitioncult.com/ in one of the Corps allied. I am having so much fun, and I don't have to devote all that much time to it. Not really.

Don't tell people to mine in eve.

Good lord, people.

Hey, its a easy starting money and you can do it and watch movies. Just dont tell people to ICE mine. Speaking of EVE, this discussion caused me to reactivate and give it a month. But its been 5 years and apparently my skill sheet is borked, so waiting on support to fix it before I can play.

Why not? It funds my ship building. It's my resources for building my STUFF that I use and sell. I sit a Myrm out in the Large Asteroid field to deal with rats, I jetcan min in my Proc and haul everything back after the 2nd round of RATS. If reds are playing stupid games in the region I make sure to not be a target. I have a large wallet and a nice BS I'm slowing tweaking for my cmbat toon while my mining toon is pulling Spud with T2 crystals and I am reprocessing at like 83% or some crazy level like that.

Mining can be quite a smart investment depending on your time availability.

I like playing an RTS game called "This is War" - it's an Android app. I find it great fun to play.

It is certainly a decent way to make money, but I find it mind numbingly boring. I prefer to simply run missions and sell the modules, or reprocess them and sell the minerals, plus salvage. Admittedly, some people find that mind numbingly boring. If I ever get time to play Eve again seriously(which seems unlikely, at least for the next few months), I want to start a new pair of toons with the idea of running missions for 'rat factions.

Well, thats why you do it while watching movies. Missions require you to actually play, and are so fricking repetitive. Best money I ever made was buying t3 materials and making t3 parts to resell. Well, until I got suicide ganked while autopiloting :) Only a bilion isk lost though.

Oh I AGREE it can be. I work at home so I can Eve mine while doing my job. Can't really mish run. I do fleet up for PVP events from time to time however.

At my height of mining, I had 4 chars, 1 trained for a Rorqual/Orca.
The rest all had T2 mining rigs.
I'd use that plus a small control tower in CVA space.

It was good isk, but a pain in the ass to control 4 characters.
Mostly did ice mining.
