Okay, this is not to discuss the actual awesomeness I stumbled upon, but I have read NOTHING on this game in terms of locations, or stuff like that. A few "How to build settlements" and "Game mechanic" video/threads, but mostly I was just running blind.
Now, spoilers.
Look on your map, in the bottom left of the screen. You'll see a crater, that's THE crater from the big crowd pleaser going off at the start of the game. To get there you need to either be a Ghoul, or have the Hazmat suit. Not telling where it's found, but it's out there, and it reduces all hazards to <1 so you can wander about.
The first thing you find out there, is you are not on earth as you know it. It's a nightmare landscape. Truly, the best place to explore alone, at home after dark with the lights out. Don't expect to find many supplies, so stock up. Your companions fortunately are not Rad effected so you can bring whomever. So you get out to the crater, and find something unexpected in the crater. That's not the coolest part.
Look around on the compass, yes... you can go explore those locations. The pyramid is worth exploring, and kinda... "Oh don't let those people find this place, PLEASE". Very good stuff.
Anyway, I can't stop people from talking about what's there if they've been there so read on at your own risk.
