Fallout 4?

Wasteland Workshop DLC is out and new Survival mode has been released from Beta. There is also a new mod mechanism from Bethesda.net which will tie in to the GECK when that's released.

The new survival mode is a gigantic departure from the previous gameplay mode. Quicksaves and Autosaves are disabled. You can only save by sleeping. Fast travel is disabled and carry capacity has been nuked plus you now take damage from carrying too much...and ammo has weight. Furthermore, since you need to eat you also have to carry food which further blows your carry capacity. Enemies don't respawn as quickly so you don't need to blow through ammo as much. The notes say that they increased damage dealt by enemies but I'm not really noticing it at level 77. Bottom line is that this mode totally changes the game from "go forth and loot!" to "Plan, prepare and be patient".

Fallout 4 DLC coming out on the 19th !

I finally tried survival mode on a new game, and omfg bethesda hates me, I made it barely outside santuary before a murlock popped out of the ground and one shotted me.

Yeah, the new survival mode is something else. It's probably worthwhile to play another difficulty level up to maybe lvl 15-20 and then switch to survival. You really need your settlements up and running to make life manageable on survival and the carry weight limit makes that a looong process.

For those that haven't played it yet, the new Far Harbor DLC is something else. It adds pretty much another whole map to the game and some fascinating new enemies. I've been playing it on Very Hard with a lvl 110+ character and it's still a challenge. While the new weapons and armor haven't been particularly useful there are some nifty new legendary traits and a few intriguing story lines.

Well, I finished the Red Death quest last night and I have to say that it was one of the most unique quests I have ever seen in any RPG. I know some people will hate it but as far as I'm concerned it was absolutely brilliant!

Man, I haven't played Fallout 4 in like two months. I should get back to it but now I got DOOM, so I'm pretty occupied at the moment.

That's another entertaining game. I haven't played it much but they sure knocked the game play out of the park with it and the violence level is just flat out shocking. I know I shouldn't get enjoyment from yanking the head off a demon but DAMN it's satisfying...or would be if there weren't 10 more right there with it that also need killing.

So they released mods for xbone and they've completely ****ed it up.
They've hosted pirated content and have been completely slow to non responsive to fix it.

I think they're trying to create a walled garden for mods/content and I think I'm about done with Bethesda games.

I still have to finish Fallout 4! I'm close, but I don't have a ton of time. I'm with the railroad, and just got the military faction undone with me...

I haven't installed any mods but a number of people cited conflicts when they were released on PC. I'm pretty sure that the new mod function is designed to go with the GECK once that's released. I'd recommend checking the Steam forums for solutions to your problems because I doubt that you're the only one who had these issues.

Mods were released before the GECK was, that's not the issue.
It's that Bethesda has completely done a hackjob of releasing them to consoles.

It's abysmally piss poor, Mod creators have had their content stolen, uploaded and then the thieves are begging for donations.
Beth's response has been either non existent or slow.
It's shoddy work and it shows how much they only see the mod makers as revenue generators.

Who's asking for donations? Bethesda?

People who stole the mods for consoles.
They put them on Beth.net, the "official" beth site for mods.
They were taken from the mod Nexus.

I know that there was some crossover of mods but am not aware that any of those were "stolen". In fact I'm pretty sure that it's a violation of Bethesda's TOS to charge for mods to one of their games.

Well Beth.net was launched so mods for PC could be ported to xbone.
Beth never worked with PC mod makers to get any mods ready for launch day.

People took pc mods from Mod Nexus and uploaded them to Beth.net, without permission from the authors.
Some of these people went as far as to ask for donations in the description.

Seeing this confirms what I already suspected.
Beth games, particularly TES and Fallout franchises are in decline, in terms of quality and Beth is going to set up shop for paid mods.
Like they tried last time.

May go as far to make both PC and console users stuck in a walled garden.(consoles are already stuck)
I was waiting to buy Fallout 4, after some in depth reviews, and maybe on a steam sale.
Now, I may not buy another game from them.
Their behavior is garbage.

So you don't even have the game?

So you don't even have the game?

No I have all the others, both TES and Fallout.
It's been designed for consoles and seeing the dialog options shows that I'd have to wait for mods to "fix it."
It's not worth $60 at it's current state and then uses mods to "add content" while not protecting the modders from piracy.

They're screwing up both franchises and they're taking advantage of the modders.
Modders made Skyrim worth playing more than a few hours.
