Skyrim!

it's all about immersion...

I enjoy immersion. Especially immersion in dragon bones and vampire carcases!

I will admit, however, that I did get finicky about that one house in Oblivion....Rosethorn Hall, if I remember correctly. Come to think of it, I also got an addon that gave me a castle. It was bigger but not as cool to decorate.

DiAnna, I just have to ask, why the hell do you need an RPG to rearrange crap on bookshelves? Can't you just do that at home in real life?:lamo

No, I live with a control/freak hoarder. There is no room on any bookshelf in the house... or any table top, or counter, or most chairs. In RPGs like Oblivion and Skyrim, I actually have my own damned house!

yeah, I have all the DLC's... but i have no mods ... I'll rectify that shortly.

I have no real interest in the quests anymore... but I still enjoy the little things

even the fighting became a bit boring... there's literally nothing in Skyrim I can't kill with a single arrow.
I just mainly wander around doing stupid stuff...

In that case I believe there is a mod that makes dragons a lot more powerful and levels them up with you- makes each battle a long drawn out fight for survival... ;)

Yup. That mod (in combination with the 'Better Difficulty' mod) was actually responsible for some of the best times I ever had playing the game.

When you're level 70, have got 100 skill in destruction magic and all combat disciplines, modded spells and shouts, custom made armor that recharges your health and gives you free casting, and an enchanted mastersmithed vampiric sword that does 300 points of damage and absorbs 50 points of your enemies' health and stamina with every swing you take (basically making you an endlessly regenerating and tireless meat grinder in close combat), and you're still only one blast of fire breath and two or three jaw snaps away from death at any given moment in time, it makes things pretty damn interesting. It is especially so when you're fighting two or three dragons at a time.

Use the shout that summons a thunder storm while in the frey, and it basically feels like the damn apocalypse.

The only downside is that dragons will tend to rip through entire cities like wet paper now, so it might be advisable to download another mod that makes all the shopkeepers and NPCs take shelter inside their homes whenever one shows up.

So, almost 4 years after I bought my copy of Skyrim, I finally have a computer capable of playing it! I made it to Whiterun and got my first Dragon Shout. Unfortunately, the interface on Skyrim really sucks donkey balls, and makes it difficult for a magic caster like myself to use more than one spell at a time. To my horror, both "shouts" and "casting magic" uses the same Z key, so when I try to use my charm spell, Voice of the Emperor, on a Merchant, I end up roaring a Shout and destroying his shop. :(

I've tried everything. Taking my shout off the favorites list, "unequipping" it, but no luck. In Oblivion I could hot key my main spells, quickly switch from one to another in battle, or light up a cave, then ready my destruction spell, but I am just stupid and awful with this interface. I've googled myself silly, and can't find the (very simple, I'm sure) answer to this question. My hope is that some of the gamers here have played Skyrim long enough or recently enough that they can give me the illusive clue to turning these shouts off when I don't want to use them.

Lydia already hates me. *sigh*

My girlfriend plays this game SOOO much on the PS3. She won't even end the game half the time and go back and create a new character. Good choice. You may look into the upcoming multiplayer ES coming out

This question is for your girlfriend, and anyone else who played Skyrim enough to answer it. People keep telling me I don't look well, and asking if I feel okay. Yes, I've gotten a few diseases, but always immediately chugged a "Cure Disease" potion (can you believe there isn't a Cure Disease spell in Skyrim???) and the book says that will cure everything. But people still keep asking if I'm sick.

Is this just a programmed comment that townsfolk routinely make, whether the player is sick or not? And is there any place where I can actually look and see if I'm actively infected with something? I even went to the Talos shrine and got myself cured, only to walk out and be told I looked sick, lol! That's when I figured the programmers were messing with my head, the dickwads, and making me spend a fortune downing Cure Disease potions I probably didn't even need!

Despite the glitches and inability to arrange house items, this game is awesome. :)

I've had that issue due to glitches, but you may have to cure constantly...but I don't know. She says it is easy to cure. I use a wood elf usually do it isn't an issue.

Edit* she says use the potions. I guess?

i think its a bug,or you contracted vampirism,either or.

the one that always says it to me no matter how disease free is the alchemist in whiterun.if everyone starts saying it,you might actualy be disease or have vampirism.

If you think it's a bug, use a console command.

You may have early stages of vampirism, which is curable if you simply pray at any shrine in the game (the first one you'll probably encounter is the shrine of Talos in Whiterun). Pretty much all diseases (except I think full-blown vampirism) are curable by visiting a shrine or taking a particular potion. You can check what diseases you might have under the Magic menu --> Effects.

It's not "upcoming". It's been out for over a year and just went from subscription to Buy to Play.

I'm currently playing Skyrim, love it :) Here's a good site for mods for Skyrim that might have what you are looking for but not really sure. You'll need to download Nexus Mod Manager (NMM at top of screen) to use most of these mods but its free to get and free to sign up to the site so no biggie. Be sure to read descriptions as they will also often tell you other things that are needed to use X mods. After getting NMM definitely get SKSE and use that to open your Skyrim game instead of going through Steam. SSKE is used in a lot of mods so you'll need it. One other mod that I suggest getting is SkyUI which changes a lot of things in a good way as far as your interface windows and such goes. And if you really REALLY want your Skyrim to look realistic I'd go with RealVision ENB. The link for it has a ton of mods that you can install that will make your Skyrim graphics look simply amazing. I'll also provide the youtube video that I used to help me install everything from them correctly and in its proper order. (if you don't install mods in a proper order they can really mess up your games so beware!)

Skyrim Nexus Mods home page ~ must sign up for free to download anything
SkyUI
SKSE ~ easiest way is to just use the current build installer link (After you install this run your game once then you can exit and add other mods, also iirc you'll need this installed before you install SkyUI)
RealVision ENB ~ Be sure to follow the youtube instructions in the following links exactly! it's a two parter video (also make sure that your comp meets the specs outlined on this page before going to the trouble of installing all this)
Youtube ~ Skyrim 2015 Photorealistic Ultimate Graphics Tutorial - Part 1 (English)
YouTube ~ Skyrim 2015 Photorealistic Ultimate Graphics Tutorial - Part 2 (English) (be sure to watch out on this one, he didn't edit the video correctly and starts off with several mods you've already installed from Part 1.)

Installing all those takes quite a bit of time but imo it is WELL worth it.

There's also a lot of mods at this site for getting and owning more homes and even castles than you will know what to do with. :) Including floating homes. ;)

Wow, thanks so much for this! I took you a lot of time to link all that info to me, and it's very much appreciated! *hugs*
