Here's a screenshot from my visit to that website. I'll just say right now that my real IP address is not the one shown because I took steps to hide it.

That is why it says "might".
Did you take the test?

I did.

Attempt to connect to router.

THE EQUIPMENT AT THE TARGET IP ADDRESS
DID NOT RESPOND TO OUR UPnP PROBES!

File sharing test.

Shields UP! is checking YOUR computer's Internet
connection security . . . currently located at IP:

Please Stand By. . .

Attempting connection to your computer. . .
Shields UP! is now attempting to contact the Hidden Internet Server within your PC. It is likely that no one has told you that your own personal computer may now be functioning as an Internet Server with neither your knowledge nor your permission. And that it may be serving up all or many of your personal files for reading, writing, modification and even deletion by anyone, anywhere, on the Internet!

Preliminary Internet connection refused!
This is extremely favorable for your system's overall Windows File and Printer Sharing security. Most Windows systems, with the Network Neighborhood installed, hold the NetBIOS port 139 wide open to solicit connections from all passing traffic. Either this system has closed this usually-open port, or some equipment or software such as a "firewall" is preventing external connection and has firmly closed the dangerous port 139 to all passersby. (Congratulations!)
Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.

All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

Check of most common ports.

1 Ports Open
25 Ports Closed
0 Ports Stealth
---------------------
26 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be STEALTH.

The port found to be OPEN was: 22

Other than what is listed above, all ports are CLOSED.

TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

This is the one port that was open:

22 SSH OPEN! Secure Shell provides a secure-connection version of the Telnet remote console service with additional features. Unfortunately, the SSH services and their security add-on packages have a long history of many widely exploited buffer overflow vulnerabilities. If your system has this port exposed to the outside world you should be vigilant in keeping your SSH service updated.

btw, the results for these tests were for a different IP address than the one from my other post...but still not from my real IP address.

Cool, but irrelevant if you are not testing your own IP. D'oh! And I am sure you know that.

Most of my web usage is hidden behind proxy servers...online gaming being the one exception...so I do consider these test results to be relevant. I'm sure I would get much different results without those proxy servers...if I were using my actual IP. But that's why I don't.

I think people should take steps to protect their internet usage.

And a reason why one should test their own ports.
Like I said, I am sure you know this.
