Any one else playing blizzard's online war craft card game?

if so what do you think of it?

I'm enjoying it but I'm not all that good at strategy taken a shine to the hunter myself

Its a little hard to get used to the fact that my opponents can bypass most of my critters, without needing any special ability's, might be because the only other card game iv played much is magic the gathering where that's not the case.

I played the wow tcg when it first came out but then they turned it into a money grab like mtg by making the dominant format only the newest sets. It had a fun concept but I hate having to switch decks and buy new cards all the time based on what ever is imbalanced in the latest set.

Blizzard in a nutshell as of now:

#1 Working on a piece of **** MOBA no one cares about (Heroes of the Storm)

#2 Has a terrible card game that people somehow get hooked on but is really just a mix of Yugioh and Magic the Gathering (Hearthstone)

#3 Has this amazing game that used to be the absolute #1 game in the world based on viewership but then has left it alone without fixing the issues that plague it, causing it to lose tons of popularity (Starcraft)

#4 Has a fun game that's terribly overpriced as hell (WoW)

In other words, I need to know if you have ever played any of the card games: YUGIOH or MAGIC before. If you haven't Hearthstone is definitely going to be a foreign concept for you, I personally have a huge distaste for it, I'd rather just play YUGIOH any day of the week. Hearthstone is madly imbalanced and frustrating at times.

But I also wanted to give you the whole picture of Blizzard, just so that you know what you're getting in to when you want to buy a Blizzard game.

"Based on whatever is imbalanced"

Those cards that turn your 8 mana-to-purchase-super-monsters in to chickens or sheep...

I love, love, love, love, Hearthstone. It's just so much fun.

I played it enough to get the mount. Its a fun game, I'm just not getting into it.

Obviously.

I'm pretty sure I've seen someone else here with a Bigby one.

Yeah, forgot his name, I know who you're talking about.

I guess he just doesn't go online as much or we post in completely different sections.

Lol you played Magic, yeaaahh, I didn't read the OP completely because I wanted to jump in so quickly, anyways, stick to Magic, seriously, unless if you're bored of it Hearthstone isn't promising.

As for bypassing you you need to have taunt units, these units typially have high amounts of HP and force any critter your enemy has to attack it, disallowing any sort of bypass by attacking means.

Blizzard is dumb, they never listen to their customers when it comes to balance so you should also never expect any Blizzard game to be balanced, Starcraft is on the right track (granted that's not the title of this thread) but that's about it, you'll see a lot more imbalance within Hearthstone as compared to Magic, EASILY.

Blizzard listins to their customers, its just that Blizz and customers have different goals. Blizzard pays close attention to customer input on how to ballance the game, so that Blizzard knows how to keep the game imbalanced.

Blizzard makes liberal use of the 'Sombody Upstairs Cares Syndrome'. They'll implement sugestions here and there so customers feel they're being listined to, without ever actually ballancing the game.

If you buy in to that bull**** just look at the history of Starcraft, perhaps alongside with WoW one of their most popular titles in their history as a company, if not the absolute most popular.

I don't play Starcraft and so I don't care.

Any of their games have the same terrible plague like Starcraft, and it seems like you play Hearthstone or have played it.

The point I want to make to the OP is that Blizzard games have a bad habit of being imbalanced like ****. Then people who exploit these imbalances just spam "L2P" at you.

Also, that wasn't the point, the point was if you look at the history of one of their games in terms of balance you would find that they have a terrible way with listening to customers. And it takes them SO MUCH TIME to patch anything. And their patches are never huge either, they're literally the smallest increments you can possibly take.

I played it long enough to get the mount, so about an houre.

Well I have to agree with that.

And again I have to agree.

Love hearthstone. It's the perfect mobile game and one of the few F2P games on a tablet that doesn't feel like it's utterly worthless after 20 minutes if you don't spend cash on it.

Haven't managed to rank up past 10 thus far unfortunately.

I actually think they've done a fairly decent job of balancing the game, and it seems like they're using Naxxramas to help address some of the decks (lock zoo, miracle rogue, freeze Mage) that we're being somewhat dominate at different points of the meta.

Haven't played magic save for on occasion in over a decade. Started back in in 3rd edition and played frequently through the ice age block and then sporadically through Exodus. I finally just got sick of old cards repeatedly becoming outlawed and having to buy new cards, which were often just old cards with minor tweaks to justify banning the old one and making you buy new ones. I broke out my old discard deck I still have to play once in a while with some friends in college, but that's been about it. At this point with all the new mechanics it's like a foreign game to me...not to mention all those crazy kids playing their summons in front of their land like some kind of whackos.
