For those of you unfamiliar with it, its a survival horror game. You have to stay healthy, eat/drink, bandage wounds, inject saline bags or blood bags if needed, splint or morphine broken limbs, revive people with epinephrine or by a defibrillator. There is also a great deal of crafting, various forms of weaponry (melee, firearms, bows/crossbows, fists, improvised weapons like tools/equipment) and environmental/day cycle effects. Soon there will be vehicles, base building, hunting and other elements the community demands.
Some people just play it like a first person shooter, some people are utterly devious, some people handcuff you and force you to do things like duel to the death with another prisoner to keep your life and gear.
Been really into it for a while, I've met a few people who weren't bandits that I run with. I like to play it as a hero, defending bambi's from the kill on sight crowd and keeping away from the coast or military bases. Here is my current Regular stable character:
My hardcore character is in full military green camo gear with a fully loaded M4. I have just over 350 hours into the game. For an early release alpha its a really great game. So many interesting encounters with people... some rather sudden murders and the occasional frustrating glitch.
Here's my favorite YouTube DayZ moment, from a guy role playing as Morgan Freeman in the Zombie Apocalypse. Utterly hilarious:
Anyone else play? Its pretty much the only game I play these days besides League of Legends or mobile games.
