NBA 2k 14

Sooo...never been much of a basketball fan but getting tired of football games. Great to play online but computer is pretty easy even on All Madden and Heisman unless the computer starts getting bizarre things turning their way....like a 64 overall QB going 40 for 40 in the last quarter in a half after you shut him out for half a game....

anywho...I need a sports game in my life so picked this up last week. Game is fantastic. It's a tough game to master and the presentation is great. I recommend it highly!

Which console do you use?

The last NBA 2k game that was worth anything was NBA 2k11. I really feel in the last few years NBA 2k has just gotten worse and worse and now we are back to the cartoonish scoring that should have stayed gone after NBA 2k11.

This is the first NBA 2K I've played so really have nothing to compare it to.

I haven't played much of NBA 2k14, but even on Hall of Fame I was up to 120 points in the third quarter and defenders were just falling all over the place on the easiest of dribble moves. They also nerfed the speed of the PG, but didn't fix the problem that showed up in 2k12 and 2k13 with bigs sometimes keeping up or sometimes going faster than the fastest players on the floor on fast breaks or even when defending them. Then comes the defensive problems where they seem lost on how to implement how defenses play today in the NBA and how to deal with the increase of the three. What they are left with is defenses that slag off too much or are easily moved around by the offense to get someone open for a three. Lastly rebounding, I can't say enough about how terrible rebounding has been over the years in the NBA 2k franchise and this year like in the past years the rebounding is somehow worse than it was in the previous year. The only short coming really in NBA 2k11 was rebounding, and I never imagined it could get worse than tipping the ball up god knows how many times before someone actually pulled the rebound down, but like all the years before 2k14 it somehow got worse, but since the scoring is so high it's not nearly as noticeable perhaps than it was in past years. The mechanics are still awkward, the tip up problem still exists, offense rebounding is still too damn low, it still comes off the backboard or rim wrong, they still have no idea what they are doing with rebounding, and it shows in all aspects of it.
