New Alien Game Coming Out

Well at least this time the Alien licence didn`t go to a bunch of halfwits who will definatly create a horrific game.

CA is a great developer, but I would rather have them work on a new Total War title.

Or actually focus on fixing the franchise's objectively awful tactical and strategic AI, at least.

Still though, the Alien game looks pretty decent.

Looks pretty damn promising. Lets hope it doesn't suck anywhere near as bad as the Colonial Marines game did.

Six Things You Should Know About Alien: Isolation

This looks absolutely terrifying. Alien vs. Predator 2 was one of my favorite games of all time. I loved playing through the three campaigns, and the marine one was pretty scary if you played in the dark with headphones, hearing every little movement around you in the dark. This looks promising and I'll definitely have to give it a look.

Coming out of where?

Yeah it does.

I dont know when you played Rome 2 the last time but CA did manage to fix alot of the bugs in the game.

Only the siege AI is still an utter mess.

And the new Ceasar in Gaul DLC expantion pack.......... wow I have never had so much fun with a strategy game since Fall of the Samurai was released.

Adding to that, the mods released for Rome 2 are very decent.

Good to hear. I haven't played in a couple of months.

It might be time to reinstall the game and give it another go.

Do you have Ceasar in Gaul yet?

Yea. Picked it up on Steam during the Christmas sale. Haven't had a chance to play it yet though.

Give it a go! You will be suprised positively, it is pritty decent.

But keep your hands off the faction packs.

The greek states pack is quite ok, but the nomadic factions pack is almoust a scam.

Saw the video with the extended gameplay.

I drooled.

Between this and MLB The Show, I may just be forced to grab a PS4 this spring.

Not sure how they can keep this style of gameplay interesting for 12 hours.

It looks like a atmospheric horror puzzle-solver which is perfectly viable. Though not very common with contemporary mainstream games there have been indie games successful with a similar format (surely you're heard of Slender for example).

Keeping the attention of kids brought up on mindless click fests might be an issue but I'm not sure a game based on such an classic (i.e. old) franchise is necessarily interested in that anyway.

I don't think it's a problem with today's gamers. I think if you really want to emulate Alien you have to realise that it was an experience that wouldn't work beyond 2 hours.

The mystique disappears the longer you play, especially as you respawn after death to do the same section again and begin breaking the monster down to pattern recognition - how its programmed. Illusion broken. I have my doubts you can replicate the film as a game beyond 5 hours at most in length.

Have they managed to fix the optimization at all, btw? I have a fairly powerful computer, but the game was still rather slow and clunky the last time I played.

As far as I noticed yes.

But honestly, I have to confess that I probably have one of the most powerfull and expensive pc`s on this forum.

So these are issues that I hardly ever have and I dint have them alot when Rome 2 was released.

This forum here:

Total War Center Forums

(if you dont know it) is a center filled with total war fans and modders from all over the world who constantly discuss the game series.

If you have qurestions concerning your pc, ask there or search through the threads.

I hope it is good. I'm little worried after the complete failure of a lunch that CA had with Rome 2.
