Has anyone tried this game? I got a copy as a gift for Christmas. I've been playing through the campaign trying to get use to the equipment and game play. I have lots of problems with lagging, sound jitter and intermitent freezing.

I have a PC with an i7 cpu, 8GB ram, amd 6900 graphics card, lots of drive space, wifi-n connection..........so wtf is the problem? I even switched to google chrome (identified as the best choice for this game). Uninstalling and reinstalling my sound driver helped for a while. All my drivers are current. I even lowered the video resolution.

It is not a great pleasure to play this game. I can only imagine the horrible play out on the servers playing with other gamers.

I only got mine to work well after buying a GTX 770 for 350$. Battlefield 4 sometimes just doesn't work because EA and Dice just don't care.

The first thing that occured to me is that maybe you should try to return this and get a game that works better.

I just did a little research-It looks like the people who made this trash are being taken to court.

Maybe after they spend a little time in court and have to pay some cash to unhappy people they'll start caring a little more.

That's the way that the market works in the USA.

You are not alone.. it even does that on PS4 and Xbox One. The game is/was full of massive bugs that made it unplayable for many.

I don't understand, it's the 4th version. Should be worked out by now.

No it is a new game, with new coding, and new tech involved. There is one hell of a difference between Windows NT and Windows 7, but technically Windows 7 is just a newer version.

They rushed the release (as usual with gaming companies) to get it out with the release of the new consoles plus of course the Christmas season.

So Battlefield 3 is completely new coding from Battlefield 4?

Totally new coding for everything? well that is a good question.

Battlefield 2 to 3 I would have said yes, since there was a 6 year gap.

This time around there was only a 2 year gap but even that in computer terms is a long time and there would be fundamental code changes, along with some reuse of old code of course.

Graphics and processor power have increased a lot since 2011, which means the demands of the player for better graphics has increased. While the principles of the game has not changed much since Battlefield 1, the graphics has, and even from 3 to 4 there has been a graphics bump. All this requires new type of coding.

On top of that, they expanded the multi-player aspect of Battlefield and that certainly requires a ton of coding changes. They added a bunch of online features that were not part of Battlefield 3.. and it was many of those features that screwed up.

I used to play BF on PC since BF1942. Its always required a higher end machine and graphics card. I quit when BF3 came and went to Xbox. Not nearly as fun, but it never lagged or glitched.

I've been debating on getting BF4, but from what it sounds like from you guys, I should skip it.

Desert Combat (1942 mod) is still probably the best FPS game I've ever played.

So BF4 is kinda Windows 8, and we can expect a .1 version that comically misses the point of what players want?

I'm convinced that I have enough machine for this game, just not sure what the issue is.

You are already on version .1, if not more. The patches have been massive as far as I understand. And there is nothing wrong with Windows 8.. it does not crash or lag.

I bet you have. It could be a memory leak, or lack of optimization for your graphics card chip make... I believe the company optimized it for Nvidia. My point is, from what I have seen of the game, and the comments of fans and friends... the game it self has a lot of problems on all platforms.

I have Win 7.

I'm sorry you're having problems with it and I hope you get it worked out. In the meantime if you're looking for some free games that are a lot of fun in the same genre you should check out Ghost Recon: Online, it's free and high quality.

I have Win 7.

It is not the operating system that is the problem.. unless you had XP of course. My guess it is optimized for Windows 7/8, so that aint the problem.

Try lowering the graphics settings. That will often help.

Thanks, but I said I already did that. And besides I shouldn't have to given the equipment I purchased. My system is good enough that it should run properly right out of the box.
