XBOX ONE vs PS4

From what I read, the graphics are a little better with PS4, but I think kinect is hands down better than PS4 which you still have to hold a control for.

Which one are you all getting and why?

My son just turned 17 Friday. He wanted the Xbox ONE.... I laughed and sputtered......try again!

$500.00

They're out of their damn minds. A year from now something better will be out, and there's more money dropped. Ugh.

Maybe the PS4 when its Blu-ray player improves, but I'm doubting that at this point. It loads too slow, strangely cut back on features in comparison with the PS3 player (so does the Xbox One, for that matter), and costs a boatload for what they have.

For as much as gamers are talking about these consoles being media devices, I'm remaining slightly unconvinced. That being said, the Xbox's Blu-ray player has improved in my estimation, but mostly because Sony hasn't desired to play catch-up.

The Wii U is the only one with a AAA title this holidays so I'm getting that.

On the multi-platform front I'm only really excited for Dark Souls 2 and I have a 360 for that. I'll leave the next gen to when they have proven commodities software-wise and price drop.

Because of where I grew up I never had the chance to get into the whole nintendo craze... After I moved to North America it became clear consoles like the N64 had a profound impact on many of my friends and I ended up getting a Wii when it came out.

I was more than disappointed, by that point I'd never had an N64, Gamecube and never really been exposed to anything Nintendo wise.

Next generation around if Nintendo can stop trying to get me off my fat ass I'll be super interested in what it has to offer because games like mario galaxy and Super Smash Bros look awesomely fun and I'd love to play them if Nintendo didn't insist that I have to stand up in my tiny living room and wave my arms about like a crazy person.

Those games you mentioned don't require you to do that. Seemingly Xbone does require you to do that at the menu screen and also deal with online douchebags 24/7. Mario 3D world certainly doesn't require you to deal with the pervasive nonsense of both sides of the casual/hardcore crowd.

PS4 will probably be my next gen choice, but it appears both 'big' titles in the next gen, destiny and titanfall, require online nonsense. Plus, thee's a lot of kids where I'm at and Mario,Zelda, Metroid et al are far more appealing than first person gunship (which I enjoy, but can afford to wait on).

That's the way to go. I think within a year the price will drop and/or they'll come out with a better version.

I cannot link to the site I get this from due to their bad habit of putting pics of barely if at all dressed women, but Sankaku Complex reports that the XBox One reaches about 104 degrees while operating. PS4 however makes it to 140 degrees, which is clearly superior. Go PS4. Besides, PS4 will eventually have more titles with imports from other countries(ie Japan). Lastly, any one willingly giving money to microsoft should be shot, especially after they released that abortion that is Windows 8.

I picked up both. I'm an XBox fanboy essentially, love Microsoft and all of its evil corporation goodness....evilness? But Sony tends to have some really good games that are worth playing as well. I hate the Kinex with a passion though, and my XBox can suck the whitest part of my ass if it thinks I'm going to use it as some all inclusive multi-media BS. I don't even have cable, so suck it! XBox is for games, and I for one cannot wait for Titanfall.

I don't know about that, I never use them as media devices, I have my own media devices for that. The only thing I found that I used the Xbox360 for is streaming content to my TV from my computer and even that is buggy at best. Otherwise, I have a Bluray player in pretty much every room of the house, why would I care about buying another?

I look for a player that has less firmware issues with discs (somehow HBO has become a good test, and that's a bad thing), has the best apps for streaming services, quicker start-up times, a good interface, customization of the picture, and an overall sense of firmware support for the ever-changing Blu-ray standard. For a while the PS3 was the go-to player because it basically had all of these things, whereas many other players did not.

Plus, I just get pissed off every time I want to do anything with media through the Xbox method.
