32Gb storage, 1Gb ram, ASUS Nexus 7.

I decided on 7 inch for portability. I already have a massive laptop for a big screen.

It should be here Wednesday, now I just have to be patient for three days.

you are gonna love it. It fits nicely in a hand, even a smaller female hand (unlike the iPad mini) and runs smooth.

There is only 2 annoying things with the Nexus 7.

1.) No camera on the back.
2.) App makers are slow assed to update their apps for 7 inch... CNN yes I am talking about you, you lazy sons of bitches!

1. I am not too worried about.
2. Yeah app availability is something that may concern me, but I did pretty well with my galaxy player on an even smaller screen before it broke.

Welcome, to the fairly limited world of tablets. Where only the crappy hardware restrictions are the limit or Apple.

Oh the apps are there, problem is that the app developers have not ticked the correct boxes in their apps to make it available to a 7 inch screen for some stupid reason. CNN is one of them (last I looked). It has also something to do with the high DPI of the Nexus 7 screen btw. It is annoying but most apps are there by now.

Tablets are good for certain consumption of certain media and that is about it :)

Its perdy.

Very well build too.

7inches are not that portable at times...

I will eventually trade in the blackberry for something that doesn't suck. I am in no rush though.

Ok, the default android media player sucks and it seems VLC (my old standby) has been neutered for android, can anyone recommend a good android 4.0 media player?

First off.. you should have recieved Jelly Bean 4.2.2 today or yesterday...weeee!

Secondly.. what type of media player? Music or movies?

Music.. the Google Music Player is pretty good, plus integrated with the Play Store music selection, which is cheaper than iTunes and just as big.

Video.. yea not the best player, but there are alternatives. VLC is out in beta I think.. for Android, but I have not tried it. I use one called VPlayer.. it is pretty good, but the best one is probably MX Player. Not installed it myself, since I dont watch much video on my Nexus 7.

My tablet has a system update ready, so its probably the latest version.

Yep, and so far I have to say that there are a few improvements. Rumour has it that battery time on the Nexus 7 has gone up dramatically with this update... from 7 to 10 hours.
