Diablo III Launching May 15

I got it free with wow contract....I never played the first two and im glad I didnt...I think diablo3 is terrible...but obviously im a minority

It is what it is. I love the game (all three) but at it's core it's a click around different places on the map game with little strategy or thinking required. My theory on it's wide popularity is because anyone can install it and start playing within a matter if minutes without having to read rules etc. and it's very engaging with acquiring different armor, building characters, and skill sets.

And this is different from any game now adays.....how?

You must not be very far into the game.

That comment was made watching the video, now that I played the game the average size of packs is like 8. In D2 the average size of a pack was like 15. In WOW the average size of packs is 3.

when you hit act 3 mobs start getting 50+ in size, especially thefallen and the scorpions.

This ^

Not all acts are created equal. My largest to date killing spree was 107 consecutive creatures.

WE defeated Diablo on Normal. On to nightmare. I love it. This is the most engaged I have been with a game in a long time!

I found getting through Normal was far too short and easy.

Especially once you 'discover' +vit gear.

My take on the difficulties...

Normal - Way to easy but it allows new players to get the game mechanics and their characters down.

Nightmare - Still to easy.

Hell - This is where it starts to become more enjoyable, while still fairly easy a person can die if they find themselves in a bad situation unaware.

Inferno act I - Nearly the perfect balance imo. Mistakes can lead to deaths but if one plays correctly they can make it threw without any or at worst very few.

Inferno act II + - Death on a stick! Can be very frustrating even for very well played games. Melee in particular will have a difficult time here. You will DIE! over and over and over...

agreed,especially on inferno.

right now i keep getting stomped at the butcher due to a combo of lag and low health,up to the butcher i had solod all of act 1 infernowith a barbarian, low resist and 26k life.in act 1 gear is not so much as important as strategy, and act 2 i havent been to yet but i have heard it requires farming for countless hours for any class except barb in act 1 inferno to beat it,the barbarian on the other hand needs to farm act 4 inferno for perfect gear to beat 2,or use the auction house.

im liking it though,im finding decent lvl 60 gear in act 1 inferno that everyone swears doesnt drop until act 2,and i have found 4 rare blacksmithing plans in one run!!!my trick is to start from the beginning and stack nephalim buff, then literally go through every cave,as i found the drops are a higher i-lvl in caves than they are in main quest areas.

Inferno Butcher took me a few tries to get it down as well. Melee, with our lower DPS can have a hard time beating the enrage timers (Total floor ignition). If you need a hand Id be happy to help (Baralis#1819), just message me. I have been doing several butcher runs a day hoping to get a drop that helps my suit but I seem to get everything except what I need.

i got decent dps,im doin around 18k,i actually can get the butcher down to about half health in like 30 seconds or less, its the part where he uses the hook to pull me in and stun me,over fire that always kills me.i think if i can time out the pattern on his hook hell be going down!!

btw first run through i found 4 exalted plans for the blacksmith, one chest one shiel one shoulder and one gloves, pretty good since most who have played 200+ hours havent found a single set of plans yet.

oh and have you tried whumsyshire on inferno yet??i got the hell staff, and the inferno plans, just need the gold and want to know if its worth it to even get the upgrade and run around collecting items from clouds before i die.

I haven't run whumsyshire yet. I have been planning to as I have read on the D3 forums that nice loot sometimes drops there, that may be my next goal.
