Nigerian police rescue 19 women from ‘baby factory’

Police in Nigeria’s largest city have rescued 19 women and young girls — most of whom were kidnapped, raped and impregnated so their captors could sell off their babies, authorities said.

The victims, who range in age from 15 to 28, as well as four babies, were freed from so-called “baby factories” around the Ikotun area of the city of Lagos, cops said.

The operators of this place were in the business of making babies for sale.

What a bizarre story.

I didn't realize there was such a baby shortage in Nigeria.
Strange. And very evil, of course.

Still, did people just stop boinking over there or what?

I agree. That's why you see so many rush hour commuters in NYC reading the Post on the subway in the morning.

Hollywood liberals are the ones who want these rape babies. Its a status symbol like carrying a toy poodle around.

Good news rarely comes from Nigeria. This was truly good news.

Shocking story!

I'm not saying this is the sole reason but it is surely a factor, Nigeria's infant mortality/still born data is shockingly bad and shows a nationwide split with mothers in the North faring much worse than those in the South of the country

Nigeria has the second highest rate of stillbirths in the world at 42.9 per 1,000 total births as well as the second highest absolute number of stillbirths, estimated at 314,000 in 2015. While the whole country faces challenges, these are particularly stark in the northern regions. Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) in Nigeria repeatedly show large discrepancies in access to health services between the southern and northern regions of the country.[ii] For example, the 2013 DHS reported that 55% of pregnant women in the North-West region receive no antenatal care, compared to just 4% in the South-East region. Similarly, 87.5% of women in the North-West region deliver their babies at home, while in the South-East region, 20% of deliveries occurr at home.

For a country with high oil revenues the lack of spending on the mass of the population is criminal imho

Every year, oil companies pay hundreds of billions of dollars to some of the poorest governments in the world with limited transparency. Many countries rich in natural resources are poor in oversight institutions and some of these payments may be siphoned off as bribes, they may line the pockets of corrupt bureaucrats, or they may be mismanaged or wasted.

All very very sad

Having lived and worked in Nigeria, I can tell you there's no guarantee these babies are being produced so they become regular members of family or even allowed to live productive lives. There are still some horrible practices in some parts of that corner of West Africa.

That is what I was guessing as well, hence my sarcastic quip.
Yeah, and what's worse, the same parts of W. Africa are now being taken over by extreme religious fanatics, and believe it or not the Christian "missionaries" are in love with the death cult as much as the other terrorists.

I have experience of that, Job Nigeria was the missionary HQ for a lot of the American missionaries. They had an amazing lifestyle - not what I expected when I first met them.

I believe you meant Jos. I lived in Nigeria a total of five years. Here's a new story.
Boko Haram claims the kidnapping of 300 boys in Nigeria, marking an alarming move into new territory
The mass abductions happened far from where the extremist group normally operates.

One of the last verses 'revealed' in the Qur'an is 9:29. It came in 630 as Mohamed was rallying the troops to attack the Byzantine Empire, "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful [infidels] and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled".

The underlined bit refers to Jews and Christians. This verse was the template for the creation of the Islamic Empire, and is still practiced by Islamists of today. They're trying to expand the rule of Islam per instructions from God.

Yeah sorry - I meant "Jos." I must have had a brain fart.
What part did you live in? Abuja? Lagos?

Didn't Ghenghis Khan operate a similar exterminate and wipe out kind of policy? He wasn't a muslim but he was pretty ruthless with any city or country that fought him. Seems the instructions in Islam simply used the rules of the day in their military policy.

Yes, Islam codified such rules into the religion, and they still apply. Think ISIS etc.
