He died after battling ill health, his family confirmed to the BBC. Mr Mugabe had been in hospital in Singapore since April.

Link.

The Ndebele in particular became victims to his North Korean troops that were led by the current President who gained the name "the Crocodile" and to a lesser extent, white farmers were victims to this man's policies and murderous regime.

He will not be missed in many parts of Zimbabwe and old Ndebele friends of mine will be unhappy that he never faced justice for genocide in Ndebeleland.

This dictator sucked a once prosperous country until it is now one of the poorest.

It is a shame that he didn't go out like Mussolini did.

He should be cremated and his ashes flushed down a toilet that empties into a septic tank.

Good, Im glad that racist **** is dead.

Im really going to miss him

Yet another example of make believe popular wisdoms not working. Like so many fellow thugs he neatly side-stepped the principle of "Live by the sword and you die by the sword".

Real pity.

1. That old Latin adage about NOT speaking ill of the dead seems appropriate here, so I shan't.

2. There is also the adage that says the best way to show contempt is through silence. I think that many people in Zimbabwe may choose this course.

3. I have read that President Mugabe was actually a very idealistic and good leader during the first ten years of his administration. He deserves credit, then, for the first decade of his rule.

Hitler was a good guy to have a beer with at first.

The young Stalin often help his neighbors.

Pol Pot grew up tending beautiful gardens.

All of these fine gentlemen killed millions of people and will forever be worthless pieces of ****.

Mugabe was lucky, had his people gotten the chance they would have torn his body apart.

Chagos had the right "adage; "Live by the sword and you die by the sword".

No. He was not. And no, he does not.

This happened forty years too late

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Gukurahundi. 3rd January 1983 to 22nd December 1987.

Mugabe was an utter bastard in the first 10 years as Prime Minister.

...No...big...loss...

He's gone, n'uff said.

Evilroddy.

Now the real question is when will Emmerson Mnangagwa leave Zimbabwe alone and depart this mortal plane? He's well on his way to being a new Mugabe.

Cheers.

He already is. Back to hyperinflation (they don't even have their own currency anymore, a cash shortage, and still managing it), food shortages, power outages, fuel shortages, etc.

In 1994, Britain's Queen Elizabeth knighted him because he used to a useful puppet working for British interests with his policy of racial reconciliation. But after he went rogue by persecuting white farmers, Queen Elizabeth II annulled Mugabe's honorary knighthood.

Mugabe ended up playing the nationalist card but I think it's natural for leaders to be drawn into nationalism. South Korea's President Moon is getting into the dangerous territory with his anti-Japan policy, ratcheting up his hard-line stance against Japan. Mugabe addressed colonial grievances against white settlers in Zimbabwe, while Moon brings up wartime slave labor.

We must speak good of the dead. He's dead. Good.

On a very serious note, why have almost all of the leaders in that continent turned out to be dictators who have refused to give up the power and luxury and prestige of their office?

An irony on their part, since they hated their White "oppressors" for the very same reason.

i think no one can save this country, commie ultra racist Mugabe f&cked it over very badly , its dying ...

So sad!

Millions and millions and millions of people in that continent have died because of wars, brutal government repression, or outright genocide (e.g., Rwanda, where one group slit the throats of another group; the horrific slaughters in the Congo; etc. etc. etc.).

Those millions would be living today if they had not demanded such rapid "independence."

Contrary to what we might think, human beings do not necessarily do what is in their best interest.

They justly blindly followed the demands of their "leaders" (such as Mugabe) for "independence," and look at what they got: poverty, corruption, incompetence, and death.

I was wondering when he'd finally kick the bucket.
