    I feel your pain, One1.

    Ever since the continent in question started getting its "independence" from its European big brothers, the consequences have been horrific: corruption, massacres, poverty.

    Sadly, I do not see much improvement in the coming decades.

    Zimbabwe just overthrew a tyrant, for example, and has gotten another one (as predicted).

    The outlook for your continent is dismal.

    One1;

    Who is the speech to be directed at? What will be the theme(s) of your speech? Will it be about foreign state intervention in Africa in the post-colonial period? Will it be about neo-colonialism and exploitation by foreign state and non-state actors? Will it be about greedy African leaders robbing their countries blind and then squirrelling their ill-gotten gains in secret off-shore trusts, the total values of which collectively dwarf Africa's combined national debt? Will it be about migration into, out of or throughout the continent? Will it be about climate change and environmental degradation on the continent? Will it be about religious struggle, tribal or national struggle. Will it be about poverty, misery, disease and malnutrition/starvation? Terrorism or war?

    The introduction should set the stage for the speech. Determine what you want to say in the speech and then write it and the conclusions which you want your audience to draw from your speech. Then when all that is done, write your introduction. So if you give folks here an inkling of what you want to say, then maybe someone will offer you some useful constructive criticism.

    Cheers.

    what is the context?

    Is it for a comic book villain?
    I may be wrong.
