if wartime tax rates were crushing, knowledge of geography would increase exponentially, i'd guess. i support extremely high wartime tax rates for all brackets on all income, especially for the middle class. if we do this, we will choose our wars very carefully. also, shared sacrifice should be a priority for every US citizen.

Some wars we don't get to choose. They're forced on us by non-state actors.

Last week al-Shabab attacked a semi-soft target in Nairobi. If we don't want next weeks attack to be in Miami, then we need to be proactive.

Yes, this type of warfare is generational. Due to power disparities, this is how terrorists must frame and prosecute their conflicts.

The West has had terrorists as enemies since 638. At that time, the Byzantines and eventually Europe were the targets.

Nah. Unless you consider failing to stay on our side of the ocean as "messing with other countries". This allah inspired terrorism is more of the same ever since the 7th century.
