Lions eat 'rhino poachers' on South African game reserve

The suspected poachers strayed into a large pride of lions, the reserve's owner said
At least two suspected rhino poachers have been mauled to death and eaten by lions on a South African game reserve, officials say.

Rangers discovered the remains of two, possibly three, people in a lion enclosure in the Sibuya reserve, near the south-east town of Kenton-on-Sea.

These guys should have known better than to feed the lions.

I wonder if they tasted like chicken.

This is one of those things where I have little sympathy for the victims.

Righteous! Poachers are scumbags everywhere.

Two, possibly three? Must be a mess. Maybe they'll have to follow the lions and count the teeth in their crap.
In an enclosure, and a rifle and axe found nearby. I'd say justice was served, alfresco.

Missus says there were three pairs of shoes found...........

Lions used to eat the migrants too, lioness kept three Mozambiquens in a tree once, shook them out and ate them one by one. Of course, then you have to hunt them down and kill them because you have a man-eater on your hands. Awesome movie about maneaters are the Ghost and the darkness, lions are very cunning.

The rhinos in South Africa is getting slaughtered, corrupt game wardens are giving away rhino locations (they send them to private game reserves to try and hide them), at this rate they may have only another 10 years left, then they will all be gone.

poetic justice, they were going to kill a beautiful creature for it's horn by trespassing and murder, now they are dead because of their trespassing.

Righteous.

That is all.

Agreed.

While I don't find pleasure from their horrible deaths, they're own immorality is what brought them to that end.

The natural law of karma makes sure poachers, who kill endangered species for profit, will end up eaten by lions.

This is a feel-good story for sure. And a win for the rhinos.

They do that here all the time. Whenever a bear kills someone—even if it were a bear just being a bear—Fish and Game possies up and goes after them with purpose.

Once they figure out man is delicious, they [Fish and Game] figure they'll [bears] just kill again.

I'm alright with it, too. Especially now. There was a brown bear in the backyard yesterday.

I hope these lions won't be killed because they did what comes natural to them. Saying Karma is a bitch is very tempting, and I have no use for poachers, sport hunters or anyone who uses and abuses animals for pleasure. However, this won't stop poaching as long as there are some sick idiots at the receiving end of the product.

Heh....."The Circle of life".

Apologies to Disney and Simba.

The transportation of human concepts onto animals seems (leastwise to me) amusing at best and worrisome at worst.

The lions eating poachers had nothing to do with justice as we (humans) have conceived it for ourselves and was thus not motivated by the lions' regard for rhinos. It was an issue of appetite for meat and its easy presentation.

Just as hunting down these lions (should that be envisaged) will have nothing to with injustice but rather be a matter of practicality. Specifically because predators that have once sampled human meat so easily obtainable tend to become man-eaters. Either partially or altogether.

Sibuya game reserve is not closed off to visitors, on the contrary its upkeep is financed by safari guests. Obviously not of the shooter variety but go tell a lion that who's learned that once you've tasted one, you've tasted them all (I mean they could already test three different specimen of the same species:2razz:).

Where I have no tolerance for poachers and have lost my taste for hunting (killing) decades ago, I'd hunt those cats down if I were responsible for running the reserve. I'd hate every minute of it but I'd hate the loss of business that preserving the area requires much more.

Justice would have as little place in any of that as it does now.

Sweet! Or were they :thinking

I wonder if they tasted like chicken.

Apparently one of the victims moonlights as a clown when not poaching rhinos.

One of the lions was heard to say that they thought the meat tasted funny

What idiots. If they had smeared blue cheese on themselves this never would have happened... lions hate that smell.
